A very good bottle of this wine. Dark fruit, light spice, cola, orange peel, perfumed overall with a menthol backnose. All of those elements on the palate as well with a coating of cola on the backpalate. The finish thins a bit too quickly but an excellent overall experience. Flavors were well complemented and highlighted by ribeye.
Stunning in every way, from start to finish! The nose was in your face with its licorice, stone, smoke, earth, tobacco, dark red berry and truffle perfume. Powerful, dense and long, the wine ended with layers of kirsch, iron, herbs and black cherry. At close to 40 years of age, this was still young.
Dark color with a fabulous nose of black charcoal, violets and minerals. On the palate, this wine coats the tongue with silky black fruits and minerals but still maintains a strong core of acidity. Finishes deeply complex with notes of roasted meats and spices. All the secondary flavors are there but this wine shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Incredible juice.

(Guigal Cote Rotie La Landonne) A 1978 Guigal Cote Rotie La Landonne was also delicious, stony and with big-time earth and spice. Robust and rocky, the La Landonne was a bit rugged and square after the sensuous ’66 La Mouline, but it was still round, rich and long
