This has the potential to become an absolute killer (it already is), but this needs at least 10 more years before it will show the magical stuff. The nose is bursting with all sorts of dark and blue berries, leather, sweetness and tobacco. The palate is big and bold. Great structure and balance. We decanted this for 3 hours which is a necessity!

JD Friday Wine Group - CAB Host (City Club FW - Wine Room): Tasted blind - dark in the glass, but slightly transparent. Nose of blackberry - like blackberry pie. Huge sweet fruit on the nose. I could have been happy just smelling this wine. Tons of black and blue fruit on the palate, with noticeable, but balanced tannins. First red of the night, and because it drank so well, I feel it was overshadowed. But it should not have been. Great wine. I guessed the reds were all the same vintage (correct) and guessed a 2005 St. Emilion (very wrong).

Excellent fruit, detail, and balance with darker fruits, tobacco and smoke predominating. Felt a little more immature than last time, like the components could use more time to integrate. It has all the makings of an exceptional vintage

Strong nose of tobacco leaves, very black fruit, incense, exotic wood… Nice sappy tannin, loads of underlying crisp red fruit, nice sappiness , lenght of 45 sec , will be even better in 5-10 years, great great wine!!

What to say about this wine? It is still really young, vibrant and primary. All of its pieces are impressive but not yet unified especially the oak component which is dominate at this point. If you have a bottle hold onto it.
