  • Superfresh primary aromas like being knee-deep in a vat of blueberry pie filling. But classic Cote-Rotie once you actually taste it - it's not a fruit bomb at all! It has a ton of tannic muscle and olive brush flavors that actually keep the fruit in the background. It's a little bit more challenging to get at than prior vintages have been at the same age, but it'll be fine whenever it gets where it's going.

  • A whole degree (14.5%) above the 2017 and a much riper, full-on wine. The fruit is concentrated and dense. Blueberry jam, flowers. Lacks of bit of acidity says Valerie. She also says this won’t last as long as the 2017. Time will tell, this needs time in cellar for the fruit to settle down. Tasting with Valerie chez Domaine Gallet.
