Medium-light red. Showy, pervasive nose: violets, hickory smoked bacon, raspberry. Low tannin, medium-low acidity. Energetic in the mouth, palate-perfect for Cote Rotie sans oak, the way I prefer it. Long finish, not drying at all. The glass remains powerfully scented of the wine long after it's been emptied. Wonderful stuff, at its best showing for the house and vintage. Bottle #11 of twelve.

Drinking well and open. So it is has entered its drinking window. Pretty classic gallet with violets, bacon, and lmedium body. Fully enjoyable especially for a '97 which I find generally good not great.

red. Nose of raspberry, baconfat, and herbs. Taste was medium to thin in the mouth, a touch acid on the end.
