Drinking very well. Seems very laser focused- but expressively so with all the right floral and meaty tones of a Cote Rotie. I'm guessing this becomes more expansive with more time, but not certain that will be an improvement.

Lots of olives on the nose, with some excellent black-red raspberry fruit woven beneath. Some juicy citrus probably due to youth, quite complex. The palate is young and austere - stony, dusty, tart fruit, olive. The finish is similar. This needs years. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4.5+/6, Finish - 4.5+/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 15-15.5+/20.

Dark crimson core with bricking; bacon fat is screaming Cote Rotie, red fruit, tapenade, and hints of white pepper in the back; soft and plush mouthfeel, tart acid that reminds me slightly of vinegar (maybe just the tapenade), full and expansive on the palate though not exactly rich; at a good point in its development; started falling apart the more air it saw so I'd suggest to drink up soon.

It took until day two for the full character to emerge - turned out to be a very fine, old school N Rhone syrah. Tannins are mostly gone. There's still nice acidity and lots of black olives. Disappeared from my glass quickly.

I had never heard of this producer before, and can't find a ton of info about them, but this wine was superb and wonderfully restrained and old school, with very moderate extraction and beautiful acidity and minerality. Not the minerality you would find in a Burgundy or Loire red, something gentle and sunny.
