Saturday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL): Weedy and green, which is especially weird for a sweet dessert wine. Just not enough ripeness to meet the proper mission brief. Probably shouldn't have been made.

Friday BBQ (Chicago, IL): Super weird herbal nose here. Feels almost a little astringent with this sugar snap pea quality. And then you get all the sweetness on the palate which just feels so disjoint. Really weird.

No detailed note taken. Medium-sweet. Very high-toned acidity with a slightly coarse feel (some VA). Still a lovely bottle of wine. No rush to drink it.

Over riding scent of pine forest, it's almost like retsina! It’s a simple wine but the acidity is fresh and this retains the house style. Not terrible but not the best in the cellar. But pretty good old wine in the context of the vintage. It held it's head up today and did the best it could.
