Decanted for two hours; heavy sediment. Deep garnet color. Relatively subdued nose of dark berries. Medium-bodied dark fruit on the palate balanced by ample acids and soft tannins. Medium-to-long length finish. Probably will not get any better, but should drink well for another three or four years.
Big, bold, beefy black fruits. Just enough sweetness, just enough toasty vanilla oak. So rich and a long charcoal finish. Definitely has a modern touch but, despite a certain sheen, it still has enough meaty, traditional core. 93
This is lovely. Drinking beautifully now & for the next 10 yrs. Dark fruits, sweet & ripe, cherry, plum and the savory you find in good beych. Gamey too which also is a good vintage beychevelle feature. Also refined & sophisticated. Out shadowed an 03 lagrange (91) which had a slight Napa streak but also very good. Would buy both again. Good pricing too.

(Chateau Beychevelle St Julien) Ripe, pressed blackcurrant nose, with a suggestion of creamy white chocolate. Ripe, restrained, but succulent and appealing. Plenty of elegantly styles fruit. Firm tannin, firm acidity too, altogether nice structure, texture a little creamy. Not quite the substance I might have hoped for. But should drink well.
