Shared at the Zachy's pre-Paulee BYOB. Others liked this much more than I did. I couldn't get past a big dose of brett. Darker fruits underneath the funk. Perhaps needed more time to open up.

Grand Cru Burgundy 1920-1971 (University Club - Chicago IL): Lots of red fruit, spice and power. Clearly a tannic wine in its youth, this probably just recently integrated into a lovely, balanced wine. Secondary character is really start starting to emerge, and in glass fruit slowly softened and mushroom became more prominent.

Crimson slight garnet color. Forward aroma of red fruit and a hint of briar. Nice rich fruit, while still somewhat tight. Nice. 3/05
