  Decanted 1.5 hr before drinking
  Pale Garnet red, upon decanting no nose and thin dried cherry flavors- 1.5 hrs later it was opening like a rosebud. Started with a bouquet of cinnamon and red striped candycane but muted; body was bigger than the nose. Over the next 4 hrs it continued to put weight on the palate and develop a bouquet that always had a strong cinnamon note but included sassafras,cedar, menthol, pipe tobacco, and chocolate. The flavors evolved over 4+ hrs to include red cherry, current and dark plum. Later cranberry and also dark chocolate/caramel flavors. Amazingly rich and smooth mid palate. Very long finish. It clearly got better as the night went on, passing it's siblings of 1970 and 1990 to be WOTN by at least a full length.
