This had a textbook mature right bank nose of peppery soil, leather, blackberry and a touch of VA. With air, the sweeter elements grew, balancing the mature notes perfectly, becoming very enjoyable.
Palate is juicy, brighter profile compared with the nose, blueberries, canned peaches, oriental spice, cigar box and some sous bois. Decent length too.

Mid-shoulder so risky but the wine is totally fine and the nose is classic Figeac which is so recognizable to me. On the palate, it remains fairly lean and is very much an old-style Bordeaux with its higher acidity and lower ripeness. Delicious flavors of subdued red fruits, truffles and sweet earth that lead to smooth, tannin-free finish. Not as complex as I would've hoped and perhaps a few years past its best but it's beautifully layered with a fine mineral note.

Medium-bodied, soft, silky, elegant, but not very deep, this is just now starting to fade. So, if you own a bottle, and you want to experience all of its sweet, red pit fruits, dried flowers, tobacco, herbs, and forest leaf, open your bottle sooner than later. Driink 2022-2025.

Guy's Night: Open Your Last Bottle (Jason P's, St. Paul, MN): Dark red color with a 12mm bricked edge. Splash double decanted, drank 2 glasses over 3 hours. Drank this next to the '70 Trotanoy. I found this mature and just delightful. The nose is quite aromatic and oozes leather, funk, menthol, and scorched earth with subtle red fruits on the background. The palate is resolved, red fruited, cherry and dried red berries, elegant and round with plush tannins, cassis, graphite and scorched earth. What a lovely mature Figeac. 93+ to 94pts.

Open your last bottle (Jason and Mariellen's house): Pop and pour, drank a good sized glass over 2 hours. This is fully mature, maybe past that. This wine is all about the tertiary components. The main layer is scorched earth, with lots of other textbook bordeaux components.
