Drank over dinner with smaller Bordeuax glass. It takes 15-20 minutes to open up this 69-year old beauty. Opulent and warm nose with light flower and prefume. The palate rested with clean and clear cherry, mints and sweet. Medium finishing given the age. It showed its best around 55-75 minutes after the bottle opened, and faded quickly after with alcoholic taste.

Lightly perfumed nose with faint gardenia and other floral notes. Light funk at first that led to sweet bright fruit and light pepper. On the palate, red raspberry, cherry and light sweet spice. A wine I had not previously tried, this bottle was a big surprise. Would have merited a higher score if it had provided more than a mid-length finish. Paired with veal loin in black truffle sauce. Good fill, great cork. Palate began to fade after one hour, and nose after 1.5

Chateau Palmer vs Chateau Margaux (Rare-Bordeaux-Weine, Wachtberg (Germany)): Difficult nose, very nice aging notes and some, still fresh, red fruits on the palate. The finish is medium-long. Clearly at the end of its drinking period but still beautiful - after 70 years! Don't give it too much air!
