La Paulee 2015: Who woulda thunk? I had this in the cellar since mid 1980's, one of the original wines I bought. It was a risky choice to open as fill was a touch low and color of dark tea. However, upon opening aromas wafted upwards in an amazingly encompassing way that reminded me why I love Burgundy so much. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, clover, dried black cherry, and so much more. Palate was alive and had a lovely sweet edge with completely integrated layers of delicate flavors. Finish was light, but elegant. This is what Burgundy is all about for me.
