Dark ruby red with pink rim. Blackcurrant, cassis, violet, capsicum, charcoal, liquorice. Dense and opulent. Bottle I tasted was still youthful and tight, but good potential in the long term. I would cellar it for a few more years before trying it again.

Coravin fun - 2009 Bordeaux & Random Burgundies (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Aromas of nutmeg, slight clove, cedar, cream, ripe plums, plain chocolate, a little Porty and slightly oxidative note. That Porty, slightly oxidative, note translates to the palate, concentrated to the point of savouriness, plenty of grainy, tight, slightly drying and bitter tannins. Non-intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish. Woof.

Very good but still with ample tannins and needs time. Giving the rest of mine another 10 years.

Tight, dense and a bit tarry, with tannins overshadowing whatever fruit core may underlie.
