Dark maroon in color; herbaceous, dusty nose with a hint of rhubarb. berry flavor. most noticeable is how high the alcohol is, also acidic. this makes the medium tannins seem to faint. a wine that is a little out of balance but still fun to drink. will leave out tonight and taste tomorrow, hopefully better balance. maybe 3 or 4 more years to drink.

Nice nose good cherry notes for a cheap cali Pinot. Not bad. Short finish. You get what you pay for.

garnet colour with herby nose (could be the roasted veggies i'm having it with) some sweet cherry or chocolate on the palate. nice acid, alcohol and tannins. drinking bottle from 2 days ago, so it can last a little while. drink now through 2014 maybe? good wine
Red
Dark maroon in color. herbal, cherry, mint on the nose. some chocolate and a little green stem, just a little, on the palate. smooth wine with nice tannins. finish is medium short, nice and succinct. great wine. drink now maybe two more years.

Ruby tinted. Fruity, pencil lead, granite nose. Medium bodied, light tannins, good heat (14.9% alcohol). Black fruit. Pretty typical high quality sonoma Pinot noir, more like a light syrah than an Oregon or burgundian Pinot.

big big big wine. drank half pop and pour, next day's lunch still big; big alcohol, big tannins. please let age or decant properly and eat with big game or drink with friends who are fond of Napa's bolder wines.

garnet in colour. floral bouquet, background of petrol. light cherry taste; a wine that is thin in flavour. medium-light tannins give way to a finish that is a little long considering the absent nature of the flavours. for the price, use this wine to entertain large parties with light hour d'oerves or a kitchen table wine while waxing poetic about the days events.

2008 Quintessa Rutherford Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
infanticide as they say. opened one day after taking delivery, which probably affected the experience. decanted 5 hours. dark mahogany in color. Aromas of black fruit, oak, vanilla, damp stone. the wine is tight, invariably due to its age plus the recent shipping. acid is in balance, but right now the tannins and high alcohol overshadow any fruit. I would purchase this wine, with mid 2012 as the earliest to drink. Probably 88-92 points, drink between 2012 and 2022.

Decanted 30 minutes prior to tasting Rich ruby color. Earthy nose. Boysenberry, green leaf on the palate that lingers for quite a while. Somewhat chewy mouthfeel, tannins slightly harsh. Better with age, maybe 3-5 more years. Overall good offering.

Rich Ruby color. Black Cherry aromas. Inviting mouth feel, beautiful tannins, fruit that is forward but restrained - not quite delicate like a Williamette offering - you know this is a Santa Lucia Pinot Noir. Very Good, should age well up to 5 more years imo. If you have the oppurtunity to enjoy this wine, please take it!

not much fruit evident at this stage of its life; tannins hiding much else from being discovered for me. YOUNG. not sure if there is potential to develop into good napa cab. friends were convinced, i was not. i would recommend at least one more year in the bottle before calling in the jury.

Very smooth and versatile. Fruity, but not obnoxious. For a young wine, tannins are very well-integrated. Drink now through 2015. Had with 4-cheese and veggie pizza. And now about to drink with dessert.
