Clear Pale straw. Nose of Marlborough grassiness and green capsicum; secondary notes of grapefruit with a tinge of passion fruit. Refreshing, medium on palate, lightly sweet yet acidity balances out perfectly with the almost creamy mouthfeel. Transition is moderately smooth with a fair bit of complexity, carrying through to a long semi-dry (with a hint of sweetness), grapefruity finish. A beautiful wine jus slightly rough round the edges however one of great value, well rounded and a great aperitif.

Garnet shade with ruby rim. Opulent perfume of tobacco, with lifted notes of cassis & a consistent overtone of plums. Some spicy vanilla oak may be detected, making the nose of the wine outstanding and exquisite. Lightly sweet on entrance, medium body with medium tannin. A complex dusty transition, held together by a good structure from from start to finish. The wine ends off lightly dry, leafy and with a good lengthy finish. Overall a good wine that fulfills the technical criteria. However it lacks a finesse that will make it a great wine.
*Tried it the next day and this wine is gorgeous. The transition has transformed into a silky smooth mouthfeel, full of complexity and elegance. Beautiful finish minus the leafy character detected the day before. This wine needs a fair bit of decanting before consuming.
