Eher zurückhaltend und süsslich in dern Nase. Apfel, Citrus, weisses Obst. Sehr feine Perlage, jedoch nie flach. Fruchtbetonter Gaumen, wenig komplex. Ein einfacher, aber guter Basischampagner, der wohl den meisten gefallen wird. Für Apéros toll, als Speisebegleiter zu wenig Ecken und Kanten.

Green apple dominates at first followed by a very nice note of honey on the finish. Just the taste of honey without the cloying sweetness. Mousse is nice. Overall an enjoyable champagne. A metallic/tinny mouthfeel prevents a higher score.

Chardonnay 50+%, Pinot Noir 30-35%, Pinot Meunier 10-15%, 15-30% reserve wine, aged 4 years, 12% vol., bought 16 months ago in the local supermarket.
Cork was in shape as it would have been bottled recently. Tiny bubbles, apple and brioche, medium acidity, slightly creamy with a good mouthfeel, medium length, well balanced.
Good basic Champagne for a fair price (for Champagne).

Half bottle, disgorged July 2023 if I'm decoding the serial number correctly. Fairly light in color. Lightly nutty on the nose, with sweet brioche and apple. Just a hint of sweetness on the palate, with notes of dough, crisp apple, and chalk.

👃 apple, floral. 👅 Sour Apple, mainly lemonade, mineral, lean, concentrated, lively, bubbles are on the slightly larger side, maybe a little higher dosage? I'm surprised. Excellent for a NV.
This is a champagne to compliment food rather than serving as a palate cleanser.

Great champagne, on the nose red apple, sur lie. In the mouth medium length, mouth covering butteriness. Would've benefited from more acidity but it's a great champagne overall.

Fairly light and refreshing, with a nice lemony note and good acidic cut. Fine bubbles, moderately persistent, with a clean finish. This is an easy-going, crowd-pleasing style that would be better suited for afternoon drinking with hors d’oeuvres than served as a companion to dinner.

Setting beside a pet nat and a prosecco in the first flight at Waterford sparking session, it is bound to shine. Golden straw, muted nose, clean, orchard fruits predominate, moderate acidity. Of course it is decent - almost by default - but it isn't remarkable, and I cannot help thinking it is a lot to pay for this level of quality.

Crisp and toasty on the nose. After WWII everything changed over to stainless steel. And lady led. 4 -5 years on the lees and then dominated by Chard, then Pinot and Meunier. This pour base vintage is 2016. 70% base is the 2016 vintage or "current" vintage.

France Trip: Paris, Champagne, Burgundy; 9/3/2023-9/17/2023 (Paris, Champagne, Burgundy): Light gold color. Split bottle between the four of us over 2 hours at our picnic in the Beaune 1er Vineyards between Les Teurons and Les Greves. This was a bottle we picked up at Laurent-Perrier during our visit there last week. We were impressed then and it was very good again. Pretty, yeast, bready, toasted, pear, elegatn and nicely layered, brioche. Drinking great.

France Trip: Paris, Champagne, Burgundy; 9/3/2023-9/17/2023 (Paris, Champagne, Burgundy): Light gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours at Champagne Laurent-Perrier. 60% 2017 as base year. C55%, PN35%, PM10%, 4yrs on the lees (5 yr in mags), 7gm/l dosage. Apple, dense mineral notes, slightly tropical, yellow fruits, dried apricot and pear, lively and finessed. You can really notive the difference since they bumped up the time on the lees by more than a year. Impressive. 91+ to 92pts.

On the nose dough and caramel. Slight nuttiness, very light. On the palate: delicate crisp bubbles. Lemon and slight green apple. The notes from the nose carry over as well. The finish is tart, yet pleasant. Overall, a solid example of classic house style champagne.

This was corked. Unusual for champagne - and weirdly, it looked to me as though it was a composite cork. I mentally set it aside for investigation later, however sadly my wonderfully attentive family tidied up all too quickly and I couldn’t confirm.

Fruit of fresh green apple and lime juice complemented by well-defined toasted bread notes and a layer of smoke. The palate was fresh and more citric in terms of aromatics. A solid NV Champagne and for me a marked step-up from the Brut but clearly not at the level of the Grand Siècle.

Fresh and light on the palate with floral nose giving way to a nice combination of green apple, pear, key lime, yeast, and limestone mineral and a honeysuckle aftertaste.

Degorgement Q2/2021. Solid champagne with a melange of equally yellow and red fruits, fresh bread and oyster shells. In the mouth this is quite powerful compared to other grand marques, but also on the rather more sturdy side (unlike, say, Ruinart or Roederer). Pleasantly dry and refreshing. However, at Laurent-Perrier the millésime bottlings are my preferred choice, both 2008 and 2012 are a clear step up and fairly priced.

Light yellow color in the glass with pleasant aromas of fresh green apples, vanilla and lemon. On the palate, pleasing taste sensations mirroring the wine’s aromas. Abundant level of effervescence …… as I would expect from this producer.

Carboot Xmas drinks wines tasting (Kafe Kooks, Ultimo): Lemon, slightly yeasty underpin, a little sherbet. Medium plus intensity acidity more green apple than lemon on the palate, mousse is frothy and generous, perhaps a little residual sugar (?), generous, medium length, simple. Okay.

Pale gold color. Drank a glass plus from half bottle off the list at The Compound. Very impressed with this tonight, best bottle I've had. Ultra crisp and fresh, great almond and patisserie notes on the nose, green apple, yeast, and steely mineral notes. The palate carries the freshness and vibrancy even higher with a tautness and admirable focus; crisp green tree fruits, pear, crystalline minerality, dancing between chalk and slate, almond, cream, finessed and long. Everyone loved it, impressive N/V, 92+ to maybe even 93pts tonight (my wife for sure).

Tasted at Three Borders Wine Group, Hampshire, UK. Summer event, hosted by me at home. We started with this champagne, which was well received by the group. Light and gold, with good bubbles. Lemon/lime nose. Quite rich, lime, honeyed, buttery. Quite long on the finish. Good value for money at a discounted price from Waitrose.

Half bottle. Quite lovely! The best table on Mirror Lake might have influenced it! Nutty with a touch of brioche. Crisp and savory. A tad short on the finish.
Pale gold. Nose of apple core, grapefruit, white pear, hints of ginger. Layers of bready citrus, apples, biscuit, and bits of petrol on the palate. Sharp, buzzy acidity and longer finish of brisk white grapefruit and yeasty elements. So refreshing after a long hike up the Purple Creek trail, Stehekin. From a 375.

- Nose: nice and direct with lots of citrus, some yeast but all elegant and fine. classic one. With more time in the glass also a very slight red fruity touch, which is very subtle (despite the use of 50% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier). - Palate: medium body and with good acidity (medium +), nice finish (medium ~+) . Really well made and for a simple evening. But too little complex to gain more points. - 89 points

Quite amazing how generic this is. Nothing to dislike, but can't come up with anything to say about it either - it drinks OK and it tastes of Champagne. A reasonable choice for our hotel to have as its house Champagne then, I guess.

Champagne Brut tasting: Not my favorite Champagne style -- I tend more for creamy brioche -- but very good for what it is. Fruity, floral, crisp, sharp acidity. I enjoyed it with our vegetable and smoked salmon appetizers.
Definitely what I would choose with oysters, for a Kir Royale, or when I'd like crisp and sharp.

From 1/16th jeroboam. Seems weird that I've never crossed paths with this wine before. Very fresh and delicious; not complex but definitely textbook champagne that drinks very easily. A little bit of doughiness on the nose. More brioche on the palate with some sweet (think honeycrisp) apple flavours. Excellent stuff; not quite as layered and deep as the Charles Heidsieck entry level (which is the best entry level wine of all the big houses).

Laurent-Perrier's nonvintage Brut Champagne La Cuvée is sourced from more than 100 crus. It typically is a blend that contains more than 50% Chardonnay, 30-35% Pinot Noir and 10-15% Pinot Meunier. Reserve wine (15-30% of the final blend) is used as necessary to ensure that each bottling is consistent with the house style. This particular recently-purchased bottle carries the lot identifier of "LP73US18621U." Light golden in color, it has an active small bead and a nice package of pit fruits, tangerines, almonds, toasted bread and crushed rocks on both the nose and medium-bodied palate. With good density in the middle and a medium-to-long finish, this is an excellent nonvintage sparkler that should be at its best over the next 2-3 years. Drink now-2024.

NobleRottersSydney - Barossa Old Vine (Fix, St James, Sydney): {cork, 12%} [Stephen] Grand, classic nose of bread and yeast. Mild yellow fruit. Fresh and vigorous palate, with medium-sized, quite aggressive bubbles. Mild rockmelon flavours, medium acidity, not a lot of autolysis character. Medium weight, medium length finish. Not quite so impressive as the nose led me to expect somehow. Maybe a little time will help.

Made with Cuvée only (no taille), mainly Chardonnay, with approximately 35% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier, a blend of more than 100 wines, approximately four years sur lattes, undisclosed dosage, 12% ABV. Rich and very attractive nose, white flowers, ripe lemon and a hint of tropical fruit, lemon verbena, acacia and brioche, hint of sweetness; the palate has a creamy texture but is actually quite tight and energetic, with steely acidity; angular and minerally finish, with baking apple and some sweet lemon sorbet. For my palate, the dosage gets in the way a bit, but overall it's a solid, if pricey NV.

Seems to be the entry level Cuvee from this big and well known producer, good nose of warm white bread, some apple pie, quiet good balance right from the start, light- to mid bodied, apples, cake, little brioche, a clean mouthful of a refreshing sparkler, not overwhelming complex, but tasty, limy, with an convincing long finish, **(-***), around 89,90

Medium yellow color. Lovely nose of biscuits, chalk, sea salt, with lemon-lime, kiwi, ginger, fresh laundry and white floral tones. The palate is framed with precise acidity, and has solid depth of texture. Tangy lemons and limes with yellow apples, and the fruit is backed up by elements of graham cracker, honey, bread dough and shaved ginger. Fresh, versatile, complex, this is juicy but focused, a solid big house Champagne.

Give it a bit time and a wider glass... the weird taste was kind of compressed gooseberry with a slightly sweetish touch and maybe a hint of mandarine at first.
With some time it becomes clear its really a rather clean and intense gooseberry bouquet as well as flavour with punchy acidity.
Honestly, not the biggest fan of gooseberry flavoured wines... in sancerre or schilcher its ok but in champagne its a bit too harsh for me.
But admittedly I respect all brands which manage a clean fruit expression.
After some more time on air it feels like dosage is giving the bouquet and aftertaste a bit weird sweetish touch. I cant help but think this would benefit from a tiny bit less dosage.

Due to Covid19 German airport duty free shops are also delivering to non-flying customers. Got 2 bottles for 50€.
Made from 50 base wines. 50%+ Chardonnay, 30%+ Pinot Noir, 10-20% Pinot Meunier
I quite liked La Cuvée even though it was sweeter than expected (despite "only" 8 g/L dosage = brut). Nice chalky peach/apple/lime notes, white bread and flowers.

I’m partial to Rosé champagne. However, I like this blend of 55% Chardonnay & the rest Pinot Noir quite a lot for the price point. I enjoy their N/V Rosé a little more but, believe this cuvée is a better QPR @ just under $40 over their Rosé.
The nose reveals; lemon meringue/chiffon, lime zest/candy, fresh, juicy mango, green melon, pineapple juice, Bosc pear, grapefruit with pith, green apple, vanillin, cream soda, bread/yeast/dough, hints of nougat w/ nuts, ginger notes, sea fossils, saline, grey volcanics, hints of mint/spearmint, dry herbs, excellent chalkiness, wafting white pepper limestone with yellow flowers/lilies, jasmine and field of spring flowers.
The mouthfeel is rich & lively. High acidity & CO2. Elegance & beauty flow over the palate. Lemon meringue/chiffon, lime zest/candy, fresh, juicy mango, green melon, pineapple juice, Bosc pear, grapefruit with pith, green apple, vanillin, cream soda, bread/yeast/dough, hints of nougat w/ nuts, caramel notes, ginger notes, sea fossils, saline, gritty, deep, palate penetrating, grey volcanics, hints of mint/spearmint, dry herbs, excellent chalkiness, white spice that bring heat on the forefront of the tongue, limestone with yellow flowers/lilies, jasmine and field of spring flowers. The long finish is polished & very well balanced and persists endlessly.

If you like a mostly reductive champagne with good mousse, nicely, bright green apple, white citrus zest, some pear, ripe pineapple, stone fruit, kiwi, vanillin, grey volcanic minerals, penetrating deep white spice, sea fossils/spray, hard baguette crust, sharp chalkiness, Jasmine, yellow lilies, field of spring flowers, crisp acidity and a long, well polished with good balance and length, this is likely for you. Osso Buco, Weybridge for lunch ?celebrating becoming an OAP tomorrow with some of my regular fellow diners. Strong vigorous beading. Clean crystalline pineapple and crisp apple fruit with plenty of lemon/lime zest and steely minerality. While lacking the complexity of many, slips down a treat! Crowd pleaser. Based on recent experience this seems to be the style of the wine and it may not take well to ageing - so buy to drink.

I got these on a good deal in early 2018, so they've had an extra year of ageing. I have to say that this was disappointing, being thin on the palate with an unappealing bitterness on the finish. I'll open another fairly soon to check that this wasn't just a bad bottle.
Good entry level Champagne. On the nose brioche, apple and decent lemon, on the palate well balanced acidity, medium length. Rather simple but good as starter.

First day, très bright and fresh, citrusy, intense, acidic. Narrow rather than broad flavor profile, not a ton of depth, trades on its intensity, tartness, and sense of purity. I very often like my champagnes better the second day - yes, even NV - but not this one. Once the very keen freshness has lost its edge, the fizz is okay as such, but not lovable.
Tried this after reading recent discussion on Berserkers identifying recent disgorgements of this as much improved and on a par with the NV entry wines of Roederer and Pol Roger. But the style is not for me, given that it takes me a couple of days or more to finish any bottle. More attractive, I would say, as an aperitif than served with a meal. Next stop ... Pol Roger white label, which I haven't tried in many years.

The body is soft and rich. Lively mouthfeel. The palate is lemon sorbet, lime zest, pineapple, some green apple, light spice that brings some palate heat, touch of dark currants, toast, hints of ginger, marzipan, silvered almond, beautiful nice chalkiness, sea spray, grey volcanic minerals that penetrate into your palate, yellow lilies, fruit blossoms and verbena. The acidy is very nice...well executed, the long, rich, balanced finish is quite enjoyable.

NV LAURENT-PERRIER LA CUVEE BRUT- Blind: pale yellow colour; the nose had mild spicy lemon and vanilla notes followed by really nice citrus fruit on the palate with lemon zest especially discernible; the spicy component actually stood out on the finish; this was noticeably sweet, had nice acidity and was very tasty

Finally trying this, after seeing it infiltrate into the range of most shops (replacing the former standard L-P NV). Pale silvery-lemon colour. Very toasty nose, veering into puffed wheat/canned tuna territory, too much for me. Fairly nice taste, tangy and fruity; apple, lemon, some red fruit notes. Fine for the style, and pretty good value, but not entirely to my preference. I like champagne much less chilled than most people, but this needs to be served cool. As time goes on, the taste gets a bit muddy. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Sainsbury's, on offer at £26].

More Samples: Aromas of buttered biscuits, salted almond, chalk dust, on top of baked yellow apple and quince paste. Nervy acidity frames the palate nicely, with flavors of apple, lemon curd and apricot blend with notes of buttercream, fresh biscuits, bread crumbs. Elements of white flowers, chalk dust and minerals add complexity. Creamy but so zesty, with impressive depth for a Champagne at this price. 55% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier, aged four years, contains about 30% reserve wine.

Grange Park Opera, West Horsley (Tosca, Calleja et al). Limited note taking. I've never been an LP (rosé excepted) fan but was somewhat taken by this offering (the House champagne). Fresh, crisp and apply with a streak of minerality. Clean, refreshing and moreish. Perfect for exploring the grounds and buildings of Britain's brand new 750 seat opera house with glass in hand - a mere hole in the ground 11 months ago! For drinking "off the shelf".

One of the big brands...
89-90
At first quite unimpressed and strange bouquet...

Bangkok Trip Feb 2020; 2/6/2020-2/9/2020 (Singapore-Bangkok): Pale lemon, a good brightness, and fine beads. Faint almond aromas. Acidic and light bodied, with flavours of lemon and white florals, wet stone, and a slight almond nuttiness. Can see the elegance of a Chardonnay-driven bubbly. A pretty nice effort

Tasted at the Three Borders Wine Group annual dinner, Hampshire, UK. Served in magnum as aperitif. This was a good crowd pleaser to get the evening going. Colour is light browny lemon. It's lively with good fine bubbles. Lovely nose, biscuity, appearing to show some maturity (it's held in bottle before release). Honey and lemon on the palate.

As well, smartly priced for good Champange.

On the nose; lemon shortbread, lime, cream, toast, touch of ginger, marzipan, beautiful nice chalkiness, sea spray and verbena.

Much as my '17 note, very much improved champagne from my distant memory and perfect celebratory (fellow diner's house sale) lunchtime fare. Clean, fresh, mineraly.

I doubt a style to age.
