Quite developed already and drinking well. Looks older than 89 though from the rather light and sparse palate. Doesn't come across as a blockbuster wine. However, the aromatics and sweetness of the fruit is rather on point and I enjoyed it. If this bottle is representative however, it's probably time to empty the stash.

Double-blind. Shockingly more advanced than the case of ‘82 Calon Segur I am drinking down slowly these days. Maybe an off bottle but if not then one better consume this soon, wouldn’t expect much improvement from this point onward, seemed rather thin on the palate. Rather disappointing performance for such a good vintage.

Jason's birthday: Own bottle. Nice and fully resolved classic Bordeaux towards the end of its drinking window. Similar in quality to the 83 and 85 Calon Segur I recently had - not the best decade for Calon Segur in my eyes.

Jason's birthday: Resolved, sweet fruit that made me think that this was Italian but the Bordeaux pyrazines emerged with air. Had some mustiness that blew off, an approachable and charming wine that is on the gentle downslope.

A wonderful, old style Bordeaux at its peak. Charming nose with sweet notes of mature cherries and raspberries, tobacco and cedar. Medium bodied, with expressive ripe fruit and phenolic notes, cedar, tobacco, chocolate and exotic spice. Improved against last bottle about 5 years ago, but consider finishing up now.
