  The 9th bottle of a case I've opened this year, and perhaps the weakest of the lot. A very pure and translucent red-purple color with minimal bricking. Darker fruit on the nose. This bottle was the first to have a metallic note on the nose and at the back end of the palate. It seemed to get a little better with air, but never completely went away. A mature Gouges, slightly rustic and not overly complex, the wine has a lovely mouthfeel and resolved tannins. Hoping the last 3 bottles of the case are metal-free.
