Surpsingly youthful still, this deeply darker red NSG showed a strong center body and a full, mellifluoius finish thoughout the entire 90-minute consumtion of the bottle. Yielding only some of the foresty and more complex individual fruit notes that his older wines usually bring forth, this bottle was nonetheless excellent for its somewhat stern stature and deeper cherry and forest wood tones. At a fine restaurant and worth the cost.
Gouges is certainly one of the two masters of this under appreciated appellation, and when these are a good 15-20 years, they stand among the most enjoyable premiere crus.

11th of 12, pnp, drunk over 3 nights, perfect cork and level - similar to my 2014 notes, but less fresh and starting to feel a little tired, though curiously more attractive on second night. VG+ (16.5).

Light red with some brown. Bright cherry nose with some really nice funk in the background. Way more developed and interesting then my Pommard. Very nice earthy cherry flavours and a very fresh finish.
Lovely wine.

Drinking very well with a combination of pure red and dark fruits, earthiness and sous bois elements. Crisp acidity and a slightly rustic mouthfeel.
