9th of 12, opened 90 minutes, perfect cork and level, first glass best, attractive and complete if with 07 lack of volume, but seemed to fade towards end of bottle probably not helped by a less than ideal food match, probably best to drink soonish, no upside from here based on this bottle. VG+ (16.5).

2018 Visit to Domaine Henri Gouges with Grégory Gouges (Nuits St. Georges): Finally, a wine from the first year of the 'new style'. And another great comparison, because, as Grégory said, "the '07s looked like the '17s, when they were made". The wine of the tasting. On bouquet, some development, fresh and dried mushroom, red and black fruit, dried herbs, minerals and clay. The palate in a great spot right now. Refreshing acids. Mid weight only but precise and detailed. Drinking well now - with some secondary nuance - but with years to go.

Quite forward for a Gouges! Very complex nose, good length, on the lighter side. 5 years more improvement.

Cherries and plums, quite spicy, in a good balance, drinking well.
