It is always too much wine and too little time at these events. but they're fun in a horizontal validation process sort of way. Some of the wines I went back to, but mostly it was just a taste. On several wines there should obviously be a confidence interval around the score - but that normally being the case with all my scores, I kept with the single number approach :)
I thought that the 2012 overall were on the big and sweet fruit side of things, many lacking grip and structure. The better ones will make good early drinking in years 3-8. The St Juliens stood out in that they had much more structure. Merlot dominated wines seemed very charming, albeit not for keeping long.
2012 Château Cantemerle 88 Points

Sweet, ripe fruit - a very big wine, but drops of at mid palate. Fruit forward but not really my style.

2012 Château Chasse-Spleen 87 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Moulis en Médoc
there's clearly some complexity here on the nose, but the wine is not fully together at this stage and hard to tell if it will ever be.

There's a lot going on, but for my tastes - perhaps just a tad too much of everything. There's alcohol heat, oak spices, dark sweet berries and grip.
