Tasted double blind. While not yet fully ready, this is already drinking on a 93pts level with upside for more. The complexity is already quite stunning and with more age, the structure should match it.
TN: Brioche, dark berries, some faint citrus and minerality on the medium+ expressive bouquet. On the palate this still has some edges and will need to come together in the cellar for a few more years. But it is open with quite complex aromas with the Pinot notes dominating with an array of forest berries and the Roederer brioche to complement. Not too much weight from mid palate on but with a long finish.
Decanting: No decanting needed.

Clear light yellow, nice medium mousse. Intense autolysis nose, hints of spice and red apple, more driven by dead yeast than fruit. Delicious slightly creamy, apple, pear and pastry flavours and a long dry finish.
A wine of depth.

On second day showing some lively lemons missing on the first day, as well as more length and fullness, but still wanting a bit more energy. Compressed chalky middle on both days, but noticeably short. Still a polished champagne, still enjoyed. Very good (only).

At Sunshine Beach. This wine opened beautifully with a nose of white peach, pale cherries, lemon and brioche. There is a lovely balance and purity on the palate which carries through with plenty of matiere and minerality. I sense a step up in the purity and terroir signature in Roederer with this vintage both of the Vintage Brut and the Cristal - Happy Days !

1982 Bordeaux (and friends) (Noizé, London): On pouring there is a pure lemon oil and grated ginger nose, with time some fresh, tart Cox apple emerges. Palate is beautifully taught with delightful acidity and length. With 20 mins in the glass there is a little twist of clementine. Very good

Beautiful medium golden appearance at age 10 or so.
Lots of candied citrus (lemon/lime/grapefruit) , white flowers , baking spice and autolytics on the nose which is still super fresh.
Medium plus in body and this wine has definitely taken on some weight compared to a bottle drunk a year or so ago. High acidity with great flavor concentration and mouthfeel.
Drink now or hold for another decade plus in a cold cellar.

Pop and pour. Estate "La Montagne" vines. 70% PN 30% Chard, 37% Oak, Disg. Jan 2017, released June 2018, 9 g/l dosage. Wow. Gorgeous. Opulent, richly styled with a touch of some reductive funk. Loads of sweet apple, a hint of brioche, lemon oil. On the palate: good acidity, fantastic density..just luxurious, almost velvety mouthfeel with lemon, vanilla cream, a hint of nuts. Would love to see this with more age.

Last of 6 bottles and probably showing the best. Pleasant aromatics and all those brioche notes I prefer in champagne. Definitely a step below DP, Cristal, etc. but at the price, a great value. Strongly recommend!

No notes taken. Magnum. From the large bottle, this wine showed more expression, aromatic intensity, a slightly higher complexity and an overall finer, more harmonious picture compared to the 750s I’ve had last fall. This is drinking quite nicely today but it certainly has the structure to age gracefully and further gain complexity over the next 5 to 10 years. I’ve scored the regular bottles 92 points. This magnum was on 93/94 point level.
Decanting: Not decanted, no decanting necessary.

I kind of suspected but couldn't resist. This needs more rest. Shows reduced upon opening. Tight, classic bigger house expression. It opens nicely overnight. The reduction faded out. More fruit opened up. Nice ginger tinged fresh tart apples and lemon. Most complex and expressive at the finish where you can detect a touch of dosage but also a broader mix with berries also chiming in. Everything hits on its own calling for the harmony and integration that happens with rest. It's got the concentration and acid for it. Looking forward to this in another 5+ years.

excellent entry level vintage champagne (whatever that means..)
Beautiful pale golden color that suggests some age.
Lots of citrus (lemon/lime/grapefruit) of the "ripe" variety backed by pie crust and autolytics on the nose. No sign of fatigue at all some years post disgorgement.
Medium bodied with high acidity and a wonderful round mouthfeel. Very impressive depth of flavor with a delicious medium plus lip smacking finish. The bottle disappeared quickly which is always a good sign.
I would drink now, but this stuff will easily last another decade if stored properly.

A night of Champagnes (Yummy Palace): The quality of Roederer throughout its range is very impressive. This had reductive gunflint, and a matchstick element on the nose. Very high acid but still well-balanced with green apple and citrus fruit.

Drinking quite nicely already, but so MOR it came across as really boring; maybe I have been drinking too many grower Champagnes recently! Flavours tended towards the citrusy but the sunny vintage beneath was obvious. I will leave the other bottles a while to see if something more interesting emerges. (Edit - I sold them all instead)

Only a slight hint of brioche on the very fresh nose. The palate shows green apple and lemon. No secondary characteristics, but it is mouthwatering with a long finish. This is so refreshing that it is a wonderful aperitif

Bracing lemon acidity, chalky and good length. With air, some white fruits emerge and the wine fleshes out a bit. A little one-noted and still young at this point, either give this one air if opening now, otherwise bury it in the cellar for a good slumber. A NV does a similar job at a far lower tariff at this point. Next bottle 2026.

Followed over 4 hours and it was still improving at the end, but I can’t help but feel that this is still painfully young. I would like to have the discipline to hold my remaining stock 3+ years before revisiting. From what I can discern, this has much more hiding under the hood than what is showing now. 4+12+17+9= 92

PnP. Metallic pale yellow, fine mousse. Generous complex bouquet of yeast, bread, white fruits... Wonderfully intense on the palate, h+A, fruit, long lingering finish. Drink now-2030. This is what it’s all about.
Very good entry level Champagne which works well in this good vintage. Of course not the most complex wine but still pretty good and interesting enough. I guess this will be much better in 10 years and with more complexity. Tasted twice on a consistent 92/93 level.
TN: Medium- expressive nose. A bit of bakery and citrus aromas. Very inviting and round. On the palate more intense aromatics with citrus, apple at the center. Some brioche notes and hints of minerality. Well integrated acidity, fresh and focused with a touch of creaminess and a good length.
Decanting: Not decanting, good from the go.

Medium golden, with subdued bubbles, at least when poured in our Zalto universals. As observed in a note earlier, this is on the richer side. Beautifully and energetically brioche / yeasty. We spread it out over three days, and throughly enjoyed it throughout — including just as much at the end. And then we tried to purchase more, only to find it sold out.

Well made, with upside, just painfully young at this point. Citrus, pure lemon, grapefruit, racy acidity. Steely minerals, light toast on the finish. Medium light body, very focused. Gentle mousse. Bright and refreshing, I enjoyed this, but it will take a couple more years to truly deliver what it has to offer.

A stunning release from Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, albeit from a difficult vintage (low yields) in Champagne. Golden yellow, slightly yeasty nose, with citrus and toasted almonds. Definitely on the richer side. A great Pinot-driven wine with plenty of aging potential. Enjoyed with lightly seared tuna.

(Disgorged in 2018, 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, dosage 9 gr/l) Light yellow colour with a youthful nose showing french bakery, sulphur and some hazelnuts before it opens up with a lovely lime citrus touch. Palate is creamy and with a nice yellow apples acidity and a lengthy finish leaving a nice saltiness on the lips. This is very good and has evolved very well over the last six months, but should reward further cellaring for sure! (Best 2022-2037)

On day 1 this bottle was dominated by its SO2 and CO2. Very muted, not a good showing. On day 2 I found a more expressive but very youthful wine with flavors of cinnamon-spiced apple and pear compote, and a little development.

A bit reserved at first, but opened in the glass a little. Typical Roederer refinement and precision. Nectarine, pear, with a prominent lemon zing on the finish. A hint of 2012 richness but not like some other cuvees. This has only just entered its drinking window. Left the stoppered bottle with a friend, who said it was appreciably better on day two and still enjoyable day three. Score is for day one, 91+.

The nose was initially slightly closed, but after quick aeration in the glass, it opened up nicely.
Quite rich and powerful nose, but with a certain elegance. Lovely mix of yellow and green apples intertwined with classic chalkiness, some oysters and a lovely subtle smokiness that mingle in the background.
On the palate the wine show elegance and balance. The wine has an almost steely mineral-like core that gives this wine a certain structure, but fills out with a lovely ripe apple character yielding ample juiciness. Nicely textured with good acidity and a dry, slightly bitter finish that gently grips the palate. I predict this will mellow in due time and add an extra level of complexity. A great Champagne with a clear marine impression.
I will let this sit another 3-5 years in the cellar before I reach for the next bottle, but job well done Jean-Baptiste. 93 score potential

Very elegant, almost shy nose of candy, lemon, lime, peach and a slight touch of red berries. Fresh dough, chalk, iodine. Distincly marine in its expression. On the palate elegant and restrained but with nice substance to the slightly sweet fruit. Again marine impressions with chalk, oysters and iodine. Long finish, dry but still with a touch of sweet fruit. Good stuff but slightly prefered the 2012 Pol Roger tonight.
Against the 2012 moet and boy were these different. From the cork pop this is leesy and bready and yeasty. Not crisp nor apply nor lemony, at least not tonight. And I preferred it too. This has some oomph, almost like a meursault to chablis. If this continues to pick up body, look out.

This is probably the first time I've really liked a regular Roederer vintage wine. This 2012 is much more interesting for my palate compared to how I found the 2008 or 2009 on release, with an already better-integrated dosage. Loaded with rich, yellow fruit but also reasonable freshness and very crisp, firm acidity. This probably has 9g/L but it tastes nearly bone dry. I think this has loads of potential and is good value at $65. On day 3 it's holding on nicely but not showing significant improvement.

Fresh but still with a depth that clearly tells you it's a vintage (even though it's still quite young). Medium+ acidity and extremely well balanced. It delivers pear, green apple and a clear minerality. A very interesting vintage, there's right up there with 08 in my book. Value is superb.

A cracking bottle. Not light and full of lemon, this is proper Champagne that commands, nay demands respect. Some flowery aspects to the nose and on the palate, at least medium bodied full of fruit, this is a serious wine that grabs my attention, it finishes with the slight rasp of bitterness is very attractive. I have tasted many different Champagnes, Bolly IS my favourite, I have enjoyed Krug and now Roederer joins the list. Welcome on board!! lol

Sin fermentación maloláctica. -------------------- Nariz potente, fruta más madura de hueso, floral, flor blanca, humedad, frutos secos pero más nueces que almendras. An Ornellaia Monday Evening (Silo 16, Hamburg-Harburg Harbour, Germany): From 3 Magnums, consistent note: stunning energy, showing pears, apples, mouthwatering zesty, on the other hand candied fruit, clearly chalky mineralic, bread crest, finesse and richness, way too young for me, will benefit from some years in the cellar, especially from MG, but if you like a young persistent fresh and ultralively champagne showing, this one is for you! A reference for vintage champagne from the well known bigger producers, great! **(**), 91,92(+) potential

White cake, ginger, yeast, touch caramel, wet chalk; good richness, sweet and sour aspect, tart apricot/nectarine; powerful and long tangy finish but just a bit too much RS in the dosage IMHO. In general fantastic nose and mid-palate, but finish shows the dosage and a little sour note. At the domaine. 70 PN 30 Chard (very surprised this has the exact same assemblage and oak treatment as for the rose)

For me, this is probably the best standard vintage from any of the best, large "houses" in Champagne (rivalled only by Pol Roger). The superb 12 vintage is no exception. Straw coloured with very fine and persisten bubbles. Wonderful and intense nose of brioche, citrus, as well as some mineral tones. Medium bodied, but very intense on the palate, combining high acidity with lots of fruit and minerals. Very concentrated, and thus one of the longest aftertastes I have had from this wine since the 1978 vintage. This wine will keep - and improve - for at least a decade, but it is also perfect right now. Good on its own, but better with food. Try it with some light meat (poultry) or a white fish with a buttery sauce. Heaven!

Palate is dry, high acidity, alcohol, body and flavour intensity, medium+ dry extract and aromas og greene apples, lemon, brioche, Lees, autolyse, complex, long finish
Well balanced with a acidity driven Palate, long citrus driven finish, medium intense, medium+ complex and solid concentration. Overall a very good, almost outstanding with many years ahead, 90/91p

More delicate on the nose vs the NV. Lower-key pâté/meal note, but similarly lemon-centric and pure with a saline frame. With air, the autolytic notes build and there is a greater sensation of florality too. The wine broadens, but remains compact. suggests it isn’t quite ready? There is an astonishingly fine and persistent mousse, and long, rich, nutty/toasty flavours.

92 poeng.

(Disgorged in 2017, 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay) Youthful nose showing lots of baked bread, hazelnuts and mature yellow apples in a very pleasant way. Very acidic palate showing lemons and with a creamy but a bit of tart finish. Not showing its best at this time, but hopefully it will evolve nicely with extra cellar time and the acidity will smooth out. (Probably best 2022-2037)

A blend of Pinot Noir (70%) and Chardonnay (30%). About 16% of the wine undergoes MLF and about 8% of the base wine is aged in oak. Bottle-aged for approx. 4 years with the lees before disgorging.
Moderately intense, lemony yellow-green color. Dry, sharp nose with aromas of mealy green apples, chalky minerality, some nutty autolysis and a hint of toasted bread. The dry wine is light-to-medium-bodied, focused and pretty tightly-wound on the palate with youthful, steely flavors of green apples, some pithy grapefruit and chalky bitterness, a little bit of yeasty leesiness, a hint of nutty toast and a touch of toasted bread. The mousse feels very small and gentle, yet the wine is very incisive and focused, thanks to the racy acidity. The finish is bright, focused and slightly bitter with long, fresh flavors of pithy grapefruit, chalk dust, yeasty French bread character, some mealy green apples, a little bit of steely minerality and a hint of nutty autolysis.
A good, bright and still very tightly-knit Vintage Champagne that is almost painfully youthful at the moment. It shows good structure and some obvious aging potential, but it is too tightly-knit and unripe (not "green", just so youthful") now that aging it for at least a few years will help it tremendously. I wouldn't touch the wine for at least the next 5 years and preferably I'd let it age for at least 10 years. Overall a great effort, although not particularly memorable. A bit on the expensive side at 69,90€.

Loads of sweet apple, a hint of brioche, lemon oil. On the palate: good acidity, fantastic density..just luxurious, almost velvety mouthfeel with lemon, vanilla cream, a hint of nuts. Would love to see this with more age.

Drank for Father's day 2021.
excellent entry level vintage champagne (whatever that means..)

Light yellow colour with a youthful nose showing french bakery, sulphur and some hazelnuts before it opens up with a lovely lime citrus touch. Palate is creamy and with a nice yellow apples acidity and a lengthy finish leaving a nice saltiness on the lips. This is very good and has evolved very well over the last six months, but should reward further cellaring for sure!

A bit reserved at first, but opened in the glass a little. Typical Roederer refinement and precision. Nectarine, pear, with a prominent lemon zing on the finish.

Some flowery aspects to the nose and on the palate, at least medium bodied full of fruit, this is a serious wine that grabs my attention, it finishes with the slight rasp of bitterness is very attractive. Heaven!

92 poeng.

Youthful nose showing lots of baked bread, hazelnuts and mature yellow apples in a very pleasant way. Very acidic palate showing lemons and with a creamy but a bit of tart finish.

Better than the 2009 etc, just sublime, some peppers and spice but a nice balanced dry finish, some mild honey with lemon overtones and a nice ripe PEACH up front flavour and some back acid.
My fave of the mid range Champers... I prefer this to the Crystal frankly

- Yellow color with small pearls and aromas of bell pepper. It's in total harmony and has flavours of peach, orange blossom and bell pepper with a medium/full body. Silky texture with a medium finish.
