Holding well in proper cellar. Aromatic of white floral notes, wild honey, yellow tropical fruits, subtle lanolin. Modestly dense on the palate, with good balance of acidity, fruit, and structure.

PnP, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, deep lemon with no bricking. Nose: Clean, medium- intensity with aromas of pear, grapefruit, melon rind, and steel. Palate: Dry, medium- acid, medium+ body with a pleasant creamy mouth-feel, medium intensity, 13.5% abv, with flavors of grapefruit and melon rind with a mineral - steel - driven backbone and a medium+ finish. Overall a very good wine with great mouth-feel and balance along with good intensity, complexity and length. Near, but not at peak yet, drink now of over next 2-4 years.

Floral nose. Palate is rich and pretty soft, with peach, tangerine, honey and hint of vanilla flavours. Quite long with slightly bitter finish. Interesting but not as complex as expected and didn’t wow - perhaps just a bit too rich for me. Maybe would have been fresher a couple of years ago?

Clearly a very polarizing wine! I can understand why some people would find certain elements off-putting, but personally I do not. It's viscous. 5W-30. And it's funky. Some volatile esters there too. Tropical fruit. On the palate it's a beast. Fat, unctuous, mineral-driven, white peach, medium minus acid. The mineral aspect harkens Gruner Veltliner for sure. Finish is pure minerality as well, which I can understand why some would identify that as bitterness. But... I dig it.

Light bodied, modern styling. Wide open nose of sweet white flowers, tropical fruit, almonds, and alcoholic heat. Palate is more subdued bringing underripe stone fruit, oyster shells, green pineapple. Oily mouthfeel. Lacking acidic backbone, quite flabby. Mid-palate through finish is difficult -- grainy, hot, bitter.

Fine Wines SG - Rhone Tasting Set (Delivered to Home): Pale lemon. Pronounced, very floral aromatic nose, and with some pear and cinnamon. Nearly off-dry, full-bodied, with a good measure of oak spices like cinnamon, and even slight vanilla, and juicy ripe pear. Pretty upfront though, leaving only the baking spices on the finish. But nevertheless a pleasant one

I experienced elements of what many other reviewers highlighted, both good and bad, but mostly favorable. Pleasing and well balanced palate of fruit and flinty mineral elements, hint of jasmine. Surprisingly velvety mouth feel, approaching syrupy like a desert wine, but without the sweetness. Somewhat bitter finish. I did not conclude it was past its prime or flawed, just the mineral elements speaking last, loudest.
Aromatic nose of honeysuckle, peach, melon, apple, candied ginger and sea breeze. Ripe peach, melon, apple, ginger, chamomile, anise and saline flavors. Creamy mid-palate with a long finish. A very pretty white Rhône. Served with chicken supreme.

The nose pulls you in with a rich concoction of stonefruit and the sea, the palate is brisk with acidity and more salt and minerality, this is an excellent example of this style of wine, memorable in every way, in particular the finish, which seems endless and amazing.

Ten or so months after the prior, and our last of five: We think this is fading — or at least evolving in a way that highlights attributes other than what originality attracted us. The lively and lovely honeysuckle has given way to oily stone fruit savory bitterness, making this all the more difficult to pair with food. Consistent results over three nights.

Light medium gold color. Drank 2 glasses over 2 hours. Very aromatic nose, peach and lychee bursting out, with beautiful sea air and minerality. The palate is full bodied with excellent lift to the peach, lychee, crushed stones, spices and white pepper. On day two the fruit tones down and the mineral drive is more dominant with the sea breezes particularly bright and strong. More citrus and lemon with only a hint of tropical fruits. Outstanding.

Fine Wines SG - BYOB “Whose Wine is it anyway?” (Praelum Wine Bistro): Some oxidative nutty feels, and bit of green winter melon on the nose. The nuts push way through on the palate, bearing a creamy marzipan feel, and syrupy hazelnutty. Some tropical dried mangoes at the back. Interesting, but seems very oxidised. Guess should be taking this as a flawed bottle...

I think this is an absolutely brilliant wine and an excellent value when purchased. I concur with the notes from @shellyreams, but with added flavors of butterscotch and creme brulee. I also believe this is starting to fade and will be drinking up!

An oily note like citrus rind oil or flower oils...it gives it almost a buttery feel but not quite ... peach but not sweet peach on the mid palate...definitely need to drink the 6 bottles I have left in the next year as I think it may be starting to fade...

19 months later: Similarly floral, with notes of jasmine and honeysuckle. Oily. As others have noted, and unsurprisingly, somewhat lacking in acidity. Pleasant enough over three nights, but increasingly we find these wines difficult to pair with food.

The nose is very good, though fading as Viognier is wont to do. Drink up. This is lacking some acidity, which is expected given the vintage was better for reds than whites. There was a bit of heat on the palate. Finish was long but a bit alcoholic.

This is still good, but this bottle is lacking a bit of acidity compared to my prior; the nose is still lovely with gorgeous floral notes, peach, poached pear, jasmine, and ginger. The palate is still good, but seems a bit more fat than the prior and I think this is best consumed sooner rather than later.

This is a beauty that initially tasted just like its big sister La Doriane. With more air and a bit of warming, it slipped a tad but was still excellent. I'd say get it a little colder than normal and drink it right out of the bottle, that was what worked best for us. It's a terrific Condrieu.

SW supplied at WWC dinner. Nose of peach and apricot. Not too sweet, very peachy, with some apricots thrown in. Tropical fruit, white flowers, some wood on the palate. Drank blind and guessed correctly to be viognier. Slightly oily, modern style. Very tasty

classic condrieu; tons of white apricot and peach; oily texture; a bit smoky and minerality and could use a tinge more acidity to push this to a 93-94 rating

Pale yellow. Distinctive nose. Floral perfumes typical of Viognier. Rich with low acidity. Big, brash and bold, perhaps accentuated by the heat in this vintage. Will not win prizes for subtlety. Quite complex with a nice long finish. A unique and enjoyable white.

Big ripe floral apricot nose, best drunk on the cooler side - when it warms the higher alcohol / low acidity gets clumsy. But nice and cold has a good fruit floral unctuousness. I like my Condrieu more minerally and stony - Andre Perret and Rostaing for example, but this is a crowd pleaser for sure likely with some residual sugar.

Oaky and hot and creamy and obvious. But that doesn't take away from the fact that this has so much typicity. This is viognier and this is condrieu. It's easy to guzzle and people will like it. Lots of fruit, peach, apricots, alcohol. This wasn't my favorite vintage - maybe too hot for northern rhone whites?

This just screams viognier. Moderately rich with pretty peach and apricot fruits in cream with a pronounced sweet-blossom note. Both fresh and unctuous, this shows the prettiness of the varietal as well as its plump and languid disposition. These lack any sense of energy or tension to my palate and get boring fairly quickly. But I can see the appeal.

Fabulous wine, nose of smoke and Apricot or is it Orange? The same is true on the palate where it is a little austere but in a good way that to me promises positive evolution. This is more interesting than even a good Oz Viognier. I don't know how this will improve but I'd be happy to stick a few away for 4-5 years.

A Casual Dual-Themed Tasting (Bear and Star, Los Olivos, CA): Two identical bottles served in a 4-bottle blind flight, coincidentally believe it or not! Identical noses: pit fruit and subtle floral notes. Bottle 1 was a bit astringent, marring its good typicity, with muted peach, honeysuckle and citrus flavors. Lean but a touch ungenerous. Bottle 2 was in better shape (for who knows what reason -- both were bought at the same retails tore!): richer tones, dense but vibrant, impressive intensity. Rating is for the better bottle.

This was good, but I can taste the warmer vintage; the nose is still classic with ripe peach, pear, and apricot; lots of honeysuckle and jasmine; a hint of ginger. The palate is rich and borderline fat for me. Still manages to hold it together, but compared to a recently consumed 2013 I prefer the 13 given the better energy. This is one to drink young as I worry it will continue to flatten out. Still very good now and pute pleasure to drink, but I've had better Guigal Condrieu.

Cata 279 de la Penya La Verema. Tercer clasificado.

Some Great Whites at Octo Fish Bar (Octo Fish Bar, St. Paul, MN): Light godlen color. Drank 1 glass over an hour plus. Very impressive, classic nose of intense aromatics, floral, tropical fruits, peach, lime and lifted. The palate has great density and texture, tropical fruit, quite tangy and fresh, lime, long and invigorating. Viognier ain't for everyone, but when you drink the best of Condrieu, it just shines. I don't drink these often enough, and I was glad to confirm I have some of these. Really delicious.

had this wine first before a rhone blend and pinot. of the three wines people liked this the least including myself. color is very clear yellow. the nose is open on floral tropical fruits. on the palate it is very viscous and coats the tong all around and stays on it for a good time. very different than other whites I usually drink. so I enjoy that aspect however I was disappointed by the lack of complexity in the wine. I read the presence of layers of tastes to come through but no. mostly honeysuckle pineapple violet but short finish. I'm returning my second bottle. maybe the heat in 2015 was too much for this appellation. I don't get the 95 points from WA.

Popped and poured. This bottle is the best one so far, I think. Golden yellow, thick legs. Lots of viscosity. Nose is lovely; caramel, honeysuckle, butterscotch. Rich and lovely in the mouth, too. Very expansive, cutting a broad but deft swath across the palate. Crème brulee. Perfect balance. Long, long finish. Very awesome wine. A relative bargain at under $50 on discount. 5-14-18-9: 96/100.

I served this in my wine course. Intense nose that is both tropical (especially pineapple) and floral (especially violets). Usual low acid high fruit mouth, but ends with a very refreshing bitterness. Not citrus bitterness, but rather more in the direction of coffee grinds.
P.S. Noticed nutmeg as a descriptor for the bitter component of the finish among the community notes and very much agree with this.

This is great right out of the gate. Beautiful golden yellow color very bright and clean. Thick legs too. Knockout nose of pure, rich honeysuckle, exotic tropical banana. 2017 Guigal single vineyard cote rotie release dinner (Bel & Brio, Barangaroo): Medium plus intensity perfumed peach over apricot, fresh and dry ginger spice. With time the apricot becomes riper and sweeter and more the fore accompanied by pretty floral notes. On the palate it's equally pretty with apricot and spice, just enough acidity to keep ti fresh. Pretty good though it is a bit alcoholically warm for me.

Delicious. Brilliant, crystal clear yellow color. Quick legs. Knockout nose of almost perfectly pure honeysuckle. Wow! Well done! The fruit in the mouth is killer, perfectly round but beautifully cut by just enough acidity to give it the excellent palate impression it has-light and ethereal. If the Doriane is so much better than this, as some tasters have alluded, I can't wait! This is the best viognier-based wine I have had in years. 4-14-18-9: 95/100.

The nose pulls you in with a rich concoction of stonefruit and the sea, the palate is brisk with acidity and more salt and minerality, this is an excellent example of this style of wine, memorable in every way, in particular the finish, which seems endless and amazing.

Rich, lush, oily feel on the mid-palate that isn't bad. Finish has decent length. Overall nice complexity.
I was prepared for anything when tasting this and I'm mildly impressed. It's a nice wine that might be a little over priced for the QPR.
At 35 Euros I would probably pass. At 20 I would buy again.

This is a beauty that initially tasted just like its big sister La Doriane. With more air and a bit of warming, it slipped a tad but was still excellent. I'd say get it a little colder than normal and drink it right out of the bottle, that was what worked best for us. It's a terrific Condrieu.

This is one to drink young as I worry it will continue to flatten out. Still very good now and pute pleasure to drink, but I've had better Guigal Condrieu.

I read the presence of layers of tastes to come through but no. mostly honeysuckle pineapple violet but short finish. I'm returning my second bottle. maybe the heat in 2015 was too much for this appellation. I don't get the 95 points from WA.

Superb viognier. One of the best we've tried. I will buy this again.

Lovely, floral, orchard fruits, banana peel, apricot, peach, rich, round but not big. Good lift. Nice. With Philippe Guigal in B.H.

As usual, very powerful nose and palate. Floral, perfumed, very bitter and salty, good minerality, stone fruits. A little less bodied and less oily than La Doriane. Best between 12~15˚C.

Rule the Rhone; 10/27/2016-11/3/2016 (Northern & Southern Rhone): As with all others from the region 100% Viognier. Interesting to try this and La Doriane back to back. This was 1/3 new oak and 2/3 stainless steel. Get some hney, very unctous wine. Again some white flowers. I found it enjoyable (although the La Doriane completely overshadowed it).
