Light salmon with reflections of pink. Received as a Christmas gift; I assume it was recently disgorged. This is straightforward but honestly delicious and super crushable, offering appealing aromas of red apple skin, dried peach, dried strawberry, biscuits, and saltines. Medium to medium+ bodied on the palate with medium+ acidity, this is dry, bright and decidedly red-fruited, simple but really tasty and unquestionably a value when it comes to sparkling rosé.

Champagnes & Sparkling Wines (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Typically, P.N. from vines ave 20 yrs old (yielding 65 hl/ha), grown in the clay & limestone soils of high altitude vyds in the Yonne area; "Traditional vinification; Blending: P.N. only, single vintage. Prise de Mousse: 2nd fermentation inside the bottle (after addition of the 'liqueur de tirage') 'Remuage' & disgorging: to eliminate 2nd fermentation sediments. 'Dosage': a sugar liquor is added, leaving 8g/l of R.S."
N: Slightly closed; Earth atop (poss) red rasps, yeast way underneath? Intensity lurking?
P: MF body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) with acidity TRYING to balance. The finish is fairly long with a tangy/SWTNESS. Best suited as a quaff/aperitif, where it just MIGHT excel. My VG+; [This vendor's $14.95 is $1 < wine-searcher's lowest listing.]

Good intensity: the yeast aroma is well defined and accompanied by red peach, strawberry and orange. Crispy acidity, decent bubbles texture. Good length with an aftertaste giving bread and cherry. Very light tannins and firm body.
A rose' with personality, which I always appreciate. This is probably due to its being 100% Pinot Noir, although made by blending. 18 months sur lattes.

Intensive rose color. Fine persistent bubbles. Prominent aromas of soaked red berries. Palate supports the nose w/ elegant bitterness. Med. body, med+ acidity that perfectly balances the sugar. Good structure & balance. My favourite choice of rose cremant w/ appealing €13 price tag. Simon-Febvre belongs to Louis Latour, located in Chablis. Grapes for this cremant come from the North of Burgundy from 20 yo vines. Traditional method, 100%PN of single vintage. Aged on lees for 18 mo. Dosage is 7g/l

Beautiful rose/salmon color, powerful yet fine-textured bubbles, indeterminate strawberry/cherry fruit, not sweet but not off-puttingly dry. Really ideal at $15-20 for a visually attractive, tasty, and versatile holiday sparkler.

Great red berry flavors and plenty of sass. We opened this with some take-out Chinese and it was close to ideal. The fruit helped mellow out the spice and the acidity went to work on those sauces. Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com

Retail $18. My wife, at the end of a long weekend of work, when asked what she might like to drink, simply said: "Sparkling." Many of you know that I do not need to be asked twice to open a bottle of the bubbles, so I ran to the basement and grabbed this. Great color--more red than pink, with gobs of red fruit to go around, made even better by drinking it out on the deck. Crisp and refreshing, I got a thumbs up from my over-worked wife. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.
Nice red fruit and more than ample acidity. The bubbles were lively and flirtatious. Getting this for about $9/bottle was one of the better deals of the year--this wine dances on the tongue while being easy on the palate. Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

Brett's Birthday Rose Tasting (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): I couldn't come up with a specific fault in this wine. Maybe something's chemically wrong with it, but I'm not sure what it is. If it's not flawed, it sure sucks. Bright pink color in the glass. Aromas of underripe cherries and seaweed. The palate shows lots of acid along with bitter cranberries and bug spray. Gross stuff. I let it sit for a while, came back to it, and it was still crappy. 60 points.

Rose Tasting; 5/17/2012-5/19/2012 (Weygandt Wines, DC): No notes or specific flaw detected, but this had to be off some way based on some of the scores on here. If not I would rate it 60 or so, one smell one sip and dump.

Solid, light bubbly Rose. Dry, but with a satisfying textural finish. Red currants, gooseberry, yellow plum, and sweet mirin. Definitely on the lighter side of rose, but the bubbly execution is quite enjoyable.

Nice Mousse and bead. Pretty strawberry color. No nose to speak of, but dry tasty palate of yeast, mineral and light strawberry. Acidity a tad over the top. Purchased from PLCB on sale. As stated in prior note, what more could you ask from a $9.99 wine. A very decent and gulpable sparkler and I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

I am enjoying the constant surprises of Burgundy crémant. These little gems cannot be called Champagne, coming as they do about 100Kms South. This is bad for the makers and great for us, as they deliver some of the most amazing value in French sparkling.
This bad boy is a rosé and sports a delicate nose of fresh green apples, and sherbet with soft creamy honey. The palette is a smooth explosion of citrus, pear and musk, with a lovely strawberries and cream finish. If you can find this, grab a few bottles and pop them when you need to celebrate something.
Today I got a new job.
