A Charmed Life: night of aged Cristal, Grange, and D'Yquem (Marea): Opened a few hours later in the night because the answer is always of course we'd like more Grange. This wine had been reconditioned a few years ago and was honestly quite youthful. It is a beautiful wine. I didn't take copious notes here - by the time this came out the conversation was flowing and the wines were a lovely backstop, but almost secondary. Did write down that this was not 100% resolved by the time we were finishing it, but starting to come together more. CT window too short at least for this bottle.

Surprisingly forward, fresh and youthful. A great mix of dark fruit, wet earth and spice on the nose. The palate was bright with excellent grip. Some coffee and caramel notes along with a more classic Bordeaux feel made this quite interesting. Long finish.

Holding up extremely well, there is still an enormous amount of fruit coming through. Smooth as silk.

Dead. A suspect cork after a 2002 wine clinic giving it clean bill of health. Very disappointing...
