The real surprising thing here is that this was served next to the acclaimed 2013, and this wine was at least its equal, if not better. The integration and candied red fruit made this wine just pop from the glass. Charming and intense on the palate. Dont sleep on 07 Dominus.

Power and elegance combine to produce a concentrated, fruit-oriented wine with layers of blackberries, black cherries, cooking spice, and licorice. The wine is even better on the palate with its palate presence that displays its wealth of fruit and spices from start to finish. This is simply a fabulous style of California Cabernet. Drink from 2023-2037.

Decanted 1.5 hours. Medium dark red and purple black base color with some browning / bricking consistent with age. This wine is in its optimal second stage with tertiary characteristics very evident. Cassis, black cherry, touch of coffee, leather, plum and spice box. Well-integrated tannins and good acidity, and it lighter (in a good way) than typical Napa cabs. 14.1% abv. I would drink to 2027. It could go longer than that but I am not sure there would be a significant incremental improvement. (D's and K's wedding shower)

These big guys just don't disappoint. I wish that I could afford to drink them regularly. So smooth as we celebrated our return from a cruise.
