A Private Rhone Paulee in London: Stewed fruit. Book leather. Not as good as the ‘98 and ‘99 that I have had recently but still good. A touch tired. 93

Great wine, elegant and intense, the oak and extraction are very well judged in this vintage in the sense that the fruit is not overshadowed by any external element, the wine is very refined, very pure. It gradually became more complex and more intense in an elegant manner after 5 hours of air, which is not what La Turque is known for. This wine is just too young, it is still primary, and it should be drunk either after a 24 hours decant or in 10 to 20 years. Lots of potential ahead.

served about 30 minutes after decanting. A little dusty on the nose, with notes of leather. Not bad, with some fragrance and sweet fruit on the nose. Acidity was relatively high on the palate. Not nearly the beautiful La Turque I was hoping for.

Nose: burnt bacon, red fruits, banana, tar, marshmallows, toffee Notes: fantastic notes and nose. Still quite fresh and delicious. It's fair to comment that this is not a top vintage la la la as the palate is relatively short and although the nose is quite fantastic the palate is unable to deliver the same kind of profile. Having said so La Turque has never been the top one from la la la and tends to be overripe comparing to mouline and landonne. I think this is ready now and should last for another 10 years. Drink: now - 2032 Rating: 90

Complete, exotic, lovely. This is in a happy place in its secondary phase, with soft fruit and beautiful spice. Appealing garnet color, plum, and incense. Uncertain about the long term future of this wine, I'd be inclined to drink sooner than later and enjoy it in its current superb state.
