My second contribution of the night and my final bottle unfortunately but boy did this deliver!
Served it blind and with a few hints @Alastair got it right! @Riaan was very close with Las Cases.
For me this showed like a great Chateau Margaux at times. Very ripe but all in balance, very long, minty and super silky. Everything was absolutely spellbinding but also made you want more! Ok, not a 1916 Latour like @Alastair had last week but for me perfect.

The 1990 showed again as a magnificent, monumental wine. On point aromatics, refined nose, delicate red fruits, could easily be mistaken for high-end Burgundy. Perfectly integrated tannins, well balanced, elegant and expressive. The wine also showed decent intensity and longevity.

This bottle was a bit shy for the first 3 hours it was open, but the last glass of the night (a total of 9 hours after the bottle was first opened) was hitting on all cylinders, lovely tertiary notes and classic LB. This wine is not at the end of its drinking window; rather, it has hit full maturity and should bring great pleasure for the next 5-10 years if stored properly.

(POYFERRE Leoville) 1990/Pomerol Dear Friends, Two finds to wrap up an eventful day - thanks to everyone that has inquired regarding the Blue Hill Event - Niki will get back to everyone shortly: 2005 Lagrange (Pomerol) This wine remains an enigma and I have a parcel at less than first tranche pricing. The winery's refusal to allow most journalists from sampling (and subsequently reviewing) the wine has a US populous that would be eager to support the estate scratching their heads? 2005 was such a strong vintage in Pomerol that it would have been very difficult to mess things up. Secretive or not, this could be a major bargain a decade from now as Pomerol does not cost this little in a vintage like 2005. 1990 Leoville Poyferre 1.5lt (Saint Julien) This wine is quickly becoming a legend - it has surpassed what anyone originally thought possible. It was always highly thought of but the 750ml I had last month was among the finest wines of this precocious vintage - in magnum all bets are off. VERY RARE in magnum and sure to keep escalating in price: Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Bord8723 Bord8724
