needs a lot of air to shed the oak on the wine. Really deep dark fruit on the palate, the texture is a bit grainy and the finish is a touch woody (even the next day)
Lots of vanilla and oak on the nose. Rich dark fruit, earth. Dark and deep wine. Impressive length. Needs some time to resolve. Tasted next to the 95. Gives us a nice idea of what a bright future this holds.

I see this is only the 2nd TN after Clayfu from a couple years ago. Took to a restaurant and was PnP. Holy moly, this is shut down hard. I've had a fair amount of 06 Burgs recently and this is the first that was so unyielding. I asked the waitress for a quick splash decant, but the fruit was hidden behind a tannic curtain and mouth puckering acidity. Didn't really open after an hour in the decanter. Powered through the bottle, but it wasn't really that enjoyable. Definitely hold.

Two Burgundy lovers and their weekend in Napa Valley (SF/NAPA): Big big wine. Rich sweet black fruit on the palate that's structured and deep and a hint of that CDB earth. Some grainy tannins on the back that need to resolve but it has that burly structure that so many 06's have. The fruit is tasting great right now, in a much better position than the Chambertin. I think with time you'll see the wine become a touch less brutish and the mouthfeel to be lighter but it drinks really well right now.
