  Deep and intense ruby color. Very expressive nose of black and red berries, mature but not over mature. Blackberry, prune, currant, cherry. Spices, balsamic and some toasted notes. At palate not perfectly resolved tannins and fresh acidity, not totally balanced. Medium long finish. Nose very similar to the 98 we had in the same vertical, but at palate it revealed to be less balanced, less elegant and shorter.

  85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc. Ruby red. Not very expressive on the nose - warm red fruit, straightforward, light balsamic notes. Palate is fresh, equilibrated, strawberries, mixed red and black fruit, ripe velvety tannins. Finish is full and staying, minerals. Somehow reminds me of a Rioja with a bit of age to it. Tasted at the producer.

  BDX blends offline (blind) (Fairway): this put me on the fence... at one point i found a ton to like here..but then there were things i just didnt like at all. the bdx bandaid and rich blackberry were excellent but the bitter edge on the finish put me off. perhaps its the % of cab franc which i rarely like.
