BYOB Night at Foreign Legion (Foreign Legion, Mpls, MN): Deep gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. This was delightful again. A wonderful, mature wine with loads of lush fruit, honey, nectarine, apricot, layered, deep, nice fusil character, long. Fantastic.

Riesling and Some Reds: Beautiful medium deep gold color. 2.5oz pour over 40 minutes. Almost a little spritzy, honey, nectarine, stone minerals, light fusil on the nose. The palate is energized, nectarine, honey, fusil, round, lighter body, balanced and long. Really hitting the sweet spot. Tied for my WWOTN.

NOSE: strong diesel; hint of botrytis; honey and pineapple; assertive, but not brash.
BODY: rich golden yellow color; medium-full bodied.
TASTE: moderately powerful flavor; woodsy spice; ripe tropical fruits; a bit of botrytis; light for an Auslese, but has incredible focus, and is well-balanced with wonderful acidity; not nearly as lively now, 44 hours after opening, as it was the first couple hours after popping the cork; very short finish; 7.5% alc.; certainly not a whack-you-over-the-head Auslese, but I enjoyed this wine a lot. Gut impression score: low 90's.

Lots of fusel on the nose, but the palate is all about sweet round fruit and honey.

A lighter offering for this wine due to the poor vintage. Spice, honey suckles, pear and apple. Short to medium finish. Drink now.
