Wine of our Florida trip graciously brought by Mark1npt to our Marco Island condo. Served alongside a 14 Malescot St Exupery, 15 Dominio de Aguila Reserva and a Mayback Cab. Clearly the best wine by far. Classic Old World Bordeaux nose of cedar, leather, tobacco, cassis & forest floor. Modern Bordeaux but packed with structure & flavor. Probably the most accessible 05 Left Bank I’ve had so far. This was so opulent and open for business. Thank you Mark for sharing this amazing bottle. It was one of the best LB’s I’ve had in a long time,
4 years since my last bottle from this case. Decanted 2 hours then back into the bottle to take to dinner with the WGDMs.....
Mid garnet in the glass. Nose of classic pencil lead/graphite and red fruit. Some earthy mushroom notes as well.
Palate is nicely integrated and for the most part, resolved. There is more fruit remaining at 2-3 hours of air and it lessens slightly after that. Balance is key here, as always. Very nice but I get the feeling there are a few more points in here down the road.....very consistent from bottle to bottle thus far.
Excellent.

Still very young and tannic but impressive nonetheless. Deep crimson red color. Decanted for about an hour before enjoying at Wing Lei in Las Vegas. Massive structure, dark brambly fruit and still showing quite a bit of oak. The palate was silky yet firm at the same time. Long and impressive finish. Should be at its peak in 5-10 more years and drink well for 20.

Decanted for 1 hour. Fantastic medium + nose of tobacco, leather, smoke, cassis, dark plum, blackcurrant. On the palate, it at first appears open for business with a super smooth, weightless quality but there's still a tight kernel of ripe fruit (which I find somewhat consistent in 05s) which needs to unwind. The tannin still needs to soften and integrate more also. Ok to drink now but I'd hold for another 5 years If I had another one. Excellent.
