Bordeaux night: Solid old-school Bordeaux with cigar box, eucalyptus notes. A little astringent for me despite the ripe, dark fruit. Didn’t have an extra gear that I thought a ‘90 would have but others loved it. Fully mature.

Une pointe oxydative gâchait un ensemble au demeurant intéressant. Nuances fumées, fruité un peu blette, sous-bois et épices, touche de pruneau, un léger goût sale, pourtant pas bouchonné, ce n’est pas l’Eldorado!
C’est le risque avec les très vieux vins… en bouche, la patine du temps offre une texture assez élégante, encore fraîche. Tanins polis, plutôt soyeux, mais l’approximation aromatique ternit le tableau…

Garnet colour, very aromatic nose of eucalyptus, liquorice, orange sanguine… same aromas on the palate, tannins are very well integrated and smooth, acidity is here and gives a very good freshness ..very good fresh white pepper on the end palate!!
Eaten with a magret de canard ( with pears).. very good pairing !
Really a nice old bordeaux

This has good fruit. Some charcoal and a bit of scorched earth. Meet and game. Deep w char w plummy fruit and some spice. Savory with carob. Very good.
