Still okay. Balsamic, black currant, dried prunes, dusty oak. Sweet and rich on the palate, long finish but with VA showing through. Fascinating and still in good condition.

First nose, rare book leather. First taste, complex, slight green peppercorn, long finish. 10 minutes later: a bit more pepper, fig, cinnamon, ash. After 30 min stronger fig, raisin, cinnamon. After 45 min, more port-like, but structure starting to fail. After 60 min, the nose is still raisins, prunes, but the palate has totally collapsed. Overall, a very enjoyable (although short-lived) experience.

The bottle had a very low fill and wine was oxidised.

Dinner with López de Heredia wines 1934-1976 (Cambio de Tercio, London SW5): Extraordinarily vivid lily of the valley nose, cool and fresh and fruit salady on the palate, with some funk coming through, a lovely wine. This really did seem claret-like next to the Burgundian Bosconia.
