  • The nose is black cherries, raspberries, spices, lots of oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, reserved and borderline over-oaked, with a good core, firm tannins and much more dense than its peers we drink that i would not have pegged as an RSV blind. It was still a beautiful wine. Thank you Stuart

  • this was a wow bottle. have learned to open and decant many hours before drinking. in this case it was about 5 hours of airtime in a perfect temperature controlled cellar. when we came down to check on the wine it had a ridiculously sweet powerful perfume i at first thought there was something wrong. as it came to room temperature and we had this with crispy duck breast, it hit on all cylinders. the nose gained earth and forest floor notes with the sweet fruit; the mouthful was impeccably lithe but filled with flavor without being heavy in anyway; long long finish. def WOTN.

  • Opened 5 hours before serving, no decant. Used riedel sommelier burgandy glass and drank it through 3 hours. Very youthful and I think it needed more air but still the nose was showing some of its charaters. What amazed everyone was the palate. Tight yet silky, and the acidity was beyond expectation. It was WOTN over DRC Echezeaux 2002 and Salon BdB 1996. I would leave it in a decanter for 3~4 hours if I drink it again.

  • Natebm-Pink purple watercolor. Marvellous nose to die for, skin scents with a perfume of dried roses. Weightless mouth, vanishing red fruits, silky, very caressing, ending in a long and chiselled finish. Supremely elegant, like a picture slowly fading, fully ready to drink.

  • A small glass was served to us fully blind. We had it alongside Rousseau CSJ 2000 and MG CdV 1999 and both agreed that it was a good Burgundy but a clear step behind the bottles we were savouring. We thought it could have been a village level from a good producer with around 20 years of age. The thing missing strikingly was the fruit. It was quite precise and almost had elements of pencil shaving and good texture. On reveal we were quite surprised that it was in fact DRC RSV 96, hands down in blind we had it down for something lesser. Maybe the smaller glasses also played a role so I wouldn't want to overstate this impression but the lack of fruit compared to the other wines was apparent (also not a huge fan of 96 vintage personally).
