Unico tasting (27 different vintages) at the Rheingau Gourmet Festival 2017: absolutely fresh appearance; brilliant, ruby colour; nose and palate revealed aromas like light toast, coffee, cassis, strawberry; medium body and round texture plus a distinct but good integrated acidity.
A very unique flight of 1921, 1922, and 1924 Unico. These were in decent shape, but the fruit is fading. Essence of belt leather on the palate for the 21 and 22. The 24 was consensus favorite, and it showed well, retaining a fair amount of fruit. As with many old bottles, it was more intellectually interesting than hedonistic.

1922 Unico: Added at the end of dinner and served blind. Absolutely freaking awesome. Smoky, tar, burnt creme brulee. Stunning. The oldest Unico I've ever had and the best. Wow.
