A seriously good showing of this Cru in a lesser vintage. Expressive nose with blueberry, underbrush and truffles, very Pomerol in style. The palate has good volume for the diluted vintage. Plush Merlot tannins, buffered by appropriate acidity and dry extract.

From a magnum, medium red, beautiful nose, wet stones, graphite, smoky, lovely soft mouthfeel, extreme pleasure, this bottle was singing, drinking in memorial of a dear friend’s passing, we will miss you Y

High fill, just 5% soaked cork, decanted for about 1h.
13% Alc., roof tile color, small brown reflexes at the edge.
Nose: Depth, freshness, smoky, red cassies, touch dark chocolate.
Palate: Smooth and cool mouthfeel, perfect balance, everything very well integrated and so good and harmonious, i.e. red berry fruit, soft with structure, some dark chocolate, good complexity and depth. Exciting experience.
My last bottle out of six. 1997 is considered to be a weak vintage, but this bottle resp. this Chateaux shows unique class and still, after 25 years, offers a lot of drinking pleasure. The reason why people buy and love Bordeaux.

Earthy open Bordeaux nose, the palate is quite concentrated which is somewhat surprising given the vintage, nice array of truffles, plums, earth, ripe cherries and cigar. Fruit is attractively present supported by good acidity and tannin level, all this makes the -97 a well built and an attractive wine which is drinking excellently now.
