  A future legend. In a few years, only the mythical 2020 will surpass it and perhaps the 2015 as well.

  Langton's Bordeaux En Primeur 2022 tasting (Langham Hotel, Kent Street, Sydney): Plums, sweet spice, alcohol prickle (again - feeling like a bit of a stuck record here). In the mouth it's rich, ripe, plummy fruits with talc textured tannic burr and plenty of alcohol warmth, touches of sweet spice, cream, caramel in support. Not for me.

  Lilacs, roses, citrus peel, Asian spice, smoke, espresso, chocolate, and red pit fruits create the intoxicating perfume. On the palate, the wine is equal parts, silk, velvet, lift, and opulence. The fruits deliver purity, persistence, vibrancy, and a velvet-drenched, textual mid-palate, and finish. The wine is deeply concentrated, intense, and light on its feet, making it effortless to drink. The seamless endnotes hold your focus for at least 60 seconds. The wine blends 96% Merlot with 4% Cabernet Franc. 14.7% ABV, 3.9 pH. Yields were were only 22 hectoliters per hectare. The harvest took place September 1 - September 19. Drink from 2028-2055. 97-99 Pts.

  99 vvPunkte / OK, was soll man hier noch sagen, nachdem man eine ganze Reihe von hervorragenden Pomerol-Weinen probiert hat, dieser Trotanoy ist ein Musterschüler seiner Klasse: Grandiose Nase, ein Parfüm sondergleichen, floral, dunkelfruchtig, Kräuter, Orangenzesten, nussige Aromen, reife Himbeeren, Tee und Tabak, ein Gedicht. Der Gaumen ist ungemein dicht und fokussiert, die Tannine sind massiv, verleihen Struktur, halten die knackige Frucht in Schach, ungemein energiegeladen, würzig und mit einer faszinierenden Länge im Abgang ist das einmal mehr einer der ganz grossen Weine in Pomerol. Wenn man bedenkt, dass dieser Wein ca. 10% eines Petrus kostet, kann man noch immer nicht sagen, dass das günstig ist, aber der "relative value" ist hier mit Sicherheit gegeben...
