Hey now. Found a bottle I didn’t know I had in the cellar. I thought I drank my last bottle an over a year ago. This has a slight pruney, over ripe note I don’t remember in previous bottles. There is plenty of acid here, and overall this is decent, but I’d say drink up if you have them, as perhaps this is starting to decline.

Decanted one hour before dinner, this (L5036) was enjoyed over two nights. It continued to open and evolve on night one and reached its peak on night two. If I had it to consume in one night I would decant three hours. Beautiful blood-crimson, this has an excellent aromatic and flavor profile of sweet and sour cherries, plums, violet, tobacco, anise, rosemary and leather. It also has a great acid backbone, even if a bit softer than classic CCR, fully integrated tannins, and a longish mineral finish. But its peak quality is the body and mouthfeel. It is silky, smooth, sappy and savory. This is not a wine to overwhelm, this is a wine to seduce. I have two bottles left in the cellar - lucky me !

2nd bottle from a 6 pack, last consumed 2.5 yrs ago. Beautiful red and black fruits, tomato paste, road tar, and plum juice. Pretty acids, gritty tannins, long finish. Drink through 2028 or so, lovely.

This is drinking very well if you prefer the flavor profile that comes with a mature wine.

PNP. Good aromatics. Lots of tannins and the fruit has faded. better with food and could have used a decant.
