Still had some life left in it. Upon opening (cork broke) it was dirty old book and funk on the nose, after 20min more of the stewed red fruit and small amount of menthol started to show causing a delightful mix. mid-low acid. Don't wait any longer, drink now.

This has been sitting in my cellar for decades. My wife has been yelling at me to drink down my cellar and so I ventured in and pulled this out. 32 years in the bottle and close to 30 years since I bought it and put it in the cellar. I thought it was a lost cause. How surprised am I? Shocked. This was stunningly good. Lightish purple in the glass with an aging rim. Barnyard nose. A deep, delicious, dark cherry palate with complete resolution of the tannins. It has a medium to short finish. A joy with more time. Probably best in the near future. I'm liking older wines and older women as I age

Luis Italian Wine Tasting at Broder's: Hard to believe a 30 year old Chianti could still be good, but this one was! Wine still showed plenty of fruit (red and black) along with some earthiness, woodsy character and a hint of herbs and spice. Some tannins and acidity, but clearly those were on the decline. The wine was very pleasant, but I suspect would have been been even better five or ten years ago. Still, drinking quite well, and very enjoyable drinking an older Sangiovese! 91-92 points now, and I would recommend drinking up, as I think this wine is on a slow decline.

Current, blackberry, some bramble. Smooth on the palate, although it seemed a little hollow to me. I enjoyed this, but perhaps not as much as others.

Italian wines on Broders patio (Broders Patio): There's incredible structure and complexity on this wine. Damp earth, loam, mushroom, woodsy, underbrush, tobacco.
