Open two hours, not decanted. Started at 56°. Deep ruby. No bricking. Nose of stewed black fruit and alcohol fumes. Soft mouthfeel but with plenty of tannins left. Deep red fruit. Still has runway.

Opens with notes of blackberry and plum, transitioning to notes of oak, garrigue, tapenade, and earth. This is fruit forward. Tannins are largely resolved. 14.5% ABV. This is holding up well at 11 years old, and can probably go at least 5 more.

Amerique's note is spot on for me. After the initial acid pop receded, the flavors came together nicely over a few hours. This is a unique style of Mourvedre that shows a different expression from many Mourvedre based wines from other regions.

Vin robe très foncée. Sur les fruits noirs, cassis, bleuet et boisé. Acidité présente, demande à être décanté 1h. Le monde a beaucoup aimé ce vin, mais pour ma part, pas dans mes gouts.

At the beginning of the drinking window to my tastes. Plummy fruit, with a fine balance of garrigue, leather, and game notes. Softening structure with enough drive to keep things lively. Lovely stuff and worth opening if you have a bottle or two, though holding for another couple few years should be rewarded. Wish I’d bought a few more than I did. Quite good with grilled chops, roasted red peppers with anchovy and garlic, and stewed Rancho Gordo Marcella beans with plenty of sage. Re-buy? For sure.
