In great shape - youthful but drinking well with some air. Love the textbook Bandol aromatics - decent weight, great acidity, moderate tannins - very good and perfect with short ribs and polenta

Black colour, red and hint of tawny rim. Rich, dark fruits, earthy and leathery, sweet and fragrant. Syrupy, rich, smooth, creamy texture. Dark fruits, plums, mulberry, blackcurrant, lovely sweet leather and earth, delicious drinking.

Still drinking very well after decanting, medium full body, rich fruit, totally integrated tannin, average mid palate and fine finish, classic mature Bandol

Tasted blind and failed to identify both grape and age. The aromas were of black fruits and spices. It is a deep purpley-red colour, in the mouth it is lively and fresh and I thought it was younger than its 10 years. The flavours reminded me of Barolo - rich and savoury with notes of tar and leather but more floral notes as well. It is a big wine at 15% alcohol but it is not unbalanced and goes well with rich food. Overall very enjoyable and a nice introduction to a wine I hadn't tasted before.

This is a very well-made bottle of mouvedre. The reduction funk blows off, as others have noted, though the mouvedre-y funk remains, which isn't a bad thing. The nose here is huge: blackberry and black currant, with some red meat, coffee, and spices, maybe a little moss around the edges. The palate has a very smooth, glycerin feel to it.
All that said, my enjoyment level was not that high. This sort of wine is just too big for me these days. Maybe I should have left it five more years, but that's not worth the effort/gamble. Nice stuff, but not a repeat for me given the cost and aging requirements.
