Deep orange colour. Some initial funk when first opened, but quickly blew off. Nose of caremelised apple and pear. Pleasantly burnt flavour. Real acid drive. Served with a desert of custard tart and fruits, but was much better drunk by itself - desert was too sweet compared to the sweetness / acidity of the wine.
Overall lovely to drink a wine over 50 years old full of flavour and vibrancy. Depth and charm, but not subtle.

Deep gold in colour. Honeyed apples, pears, floral notes, spices on the nose. Wonderful acidity on the palate, great depth, not overly sweet. Lingering finish. Drink or keep. 93-95

Beautiful dark honeyed colour. Nose was fresh, pears. Palate was still pears but burnt sugar too, some apricot was picked up. Still fresh, seems like it will keep going for some time.

This has an arresting densely golden colour, and a palate with loads of powerful nectar-like apricot and peach, furry texture, evident streaks of botrytis. These old sweet chenins really can live forever. Fresh as a daisy, not frail in the slightest.

Very fresh and charming, sweet enough for lighter desserts or to drink on its own. Not the greatest depth but plenty of interest and more youthful than I thought this vintage might be.
