  • A birthday at Bouchon Racine, London (Bouchon Racine, London): Young and every so dark fruited, juicy ripe, soft oaky dynamic, spice and although round and polished still ever so fruit driven. Maybe a touch of tomato but mostly dark fruits and this now is starting to show a bit of secondary and savoury side, fpgive this more time unless rich fruit is what one enjoys. 91-92 for now but full of promise.

  • Opened and decanted 3 hours ahead of seared pork loin, roasted potatoes, and blueberry-spinach salad. Purple-crimson color. Expressive nose brings warm gingerbread, purple lavender, potpourri, olive brine, pencil lead, and wild herbs. The palate is medium, square, compact, and extremely textured, bringing a juicy core of blueberries, blackberries, and huckleberries with campfire, bloody beef chili, and crushed chalk notes smashing into a hard tannic wall on the finish. This is still primary but has extraordinary potential based upon its depth, viscosity, and overall frame. Drink 2027-2037. Technical score: 94. Enjoyment score: 92.

  • Delicious wine - needs more time in the bottle. Lovely floral violet aromas with concentrated blackberry, black cherry and tons of pepper. Great structure with medium + acid, medium silky tannins and the same concentrated black fruit. Some tertiary notes of earth and forest floo. This will be even more delicious in a few years.

  • Really smooth and open from the start but time brought out complexities. Dark berry, smoke, olive brine, mineral, game, and a nice floral/lavender lift. This will age a long time but surprised by how open it is now. Put up a good fight but the 2017 Allemand Reynard bested it with freshness.
