Yarra, Mornington, Geelong wine tour day two (Yarra Valley): That lean, red hued note that I associated with (most) Victorian Cabernet. Red currant, raspberry, oak spice, caramel and vanilla. medium plus intensity acidity, red hued fruit is quite crunchy, savoury and sweet spices, woody texture is drying, it's quite disjointed but super young. Meh for me.

As good as a young Quintet can get! Still very raw, gangly and quite incoherent but possessing all the traits of a fine future athlete. As of now it is not integrated so you could still explore the component parts. Perfume nose with other notes berries and perhaps a tinge of green. Body is so well proportioned and crafted with finely tuned tannin (even now), that has a clear beginning and a well constructed end. All the core ingredients to be a great wine. Patience will reward.
Drink from 2040+.

A slightly bolder expression this time. Perfumed nose and great vigour in the body. Built for a long and interesting ride. 93-95+

Great intensity, high tannins. Will be a lot better in 10y. Nose is great, spice, blackcurrant, black fruit, plum jam
