Introduction
Except for some ringers we knew the wines which were in the line–up, but all wines were tasted and scored blind.

Very special bouquet, white fruits, blossom and candy impressions. On the palate still quite locked, but creamy, someone mentioned peach yoghurt which was spot on. Extremely concentrated and youthful. Very well balanced with beautiful acidity. 94 - 95+

In the bouquet sherry, rust and nuts. Same on the palate, medicine, band aid, caramel and hazelnut. A lot to taste, but very much too old. No score.

Beautiful and mature bouquet with mushrooms, autumn forest, stable smells, earth, tobacco, smoke cedar and some chocolate. Same on the palate with beautiful acidity and coffee. Elegant wine which develops quit quickly in the glass, but especially the bouquet is fabulous.

Beautiful bouquet with tobacco, smoke and graphite. On the palate red and dark berries, tobacco, cedar, soft and round and full bodied. Ok bitterness and the tannin still offers some bite. This bottle is not as impressive as the one I had a few years ago, nut nevertheless still a very nice and mature wine.

Still a true to type Talbot from the 1980's and it was fun to see I blind scored this wine 94 for the 3rd time. In the bouquet horse stable smells, leftovers of dark berries and cassis and some bell pepper. On the palate vanilla, cedar, chocolate, some graphite and sweet licorice. Mature, very tasty and elegant. Lovely and fully mature wine.

Corked and no score of course, but I nevertheless tasted it. Dark berries, good acidity and still sticky tannin. So sad the TCA spoiled the wine.

Beautiful and elegant bouquet with red berries, beautiful oak, bell pepper and some smoke. On the palate silky soft and elegant. Smoke, vanilla, some dark berries still, elegant acidity. A really delicious beauty now.

In the bouquet cherries, raspberries and candy flavors. Same impressions on the palate. In fact amazing that an Australian wine of 17 years old is still so primary. Certainly a very good wine with still several years of future.

In the bouquet very bretty and not fresh. On the palate pleasant sweetness and good acidity, but the bretty impressions remain. Not sure if it is really corked, but it definitely does not perform as it should. No score.

Beautiful and mature bouquet with cassis and dark berries. On the palate dark berries, oak, cedar, luxurious, autumn forest, mushrooms, truffle. Very exclusive, luxurious and delicious. I scored it 95, but reading back my notes 96+ would probably be more correct.

The bouquet is quite musty. On the palate special as well. Autumn impressions, bell pepper, oak and also a hint of putty. Nevertheless I scored the wine 91.

Very luxurious and harmonious bouquet with all luxurious elements you can think of. Last wine of the tasting and fabulous and I did not make more specific notes. Close to perfection. I scored the wine 98 - 99

It was a pity not all bottles performed as they should.
Unfortunately with old bottles you need to be lucky to have a proper one.
Nevertheless it was an unforgettable evening for me in a positive way.
