Decant 1 hour. Red/brown color with some bricking on the edges. A bit of a floral aroma/herbs/leather. Very astringent right now... Makes your cheeks pucker in. Raisin/prune on the palette with maybe some red fruit. The tannins are overpowering. Not sure about this one... I'll try my other bottle in 5 or 10 years... But will it be any better then?

So I only decanted for 15 minutes, and my initial reaction was heat on the nose with some chocolate notes. I wasn't getting much fruit at all. It's smooth and very sweet, perhaps that was masking some of the fruit and flavor profile? I'll reserve rating until I open on of my other bottles.

Aroma of dark fruit. Moderate tannin, balanced and smooth, rich body. Black cherry, blueberry and blackberry with a hint of coffee. This was very nice and can be drank on its own or with food. Better than I was expecting.

Decant 1.5 hours. Interesting based on some of the comments below as this bottle isn't showing much on the nose and has muted fruit and it doesn't seem like the tannins have fully resolved. Medium-short finish. I'll hold the other bottle for a couple more years and see what happens.

Decant almost an hour. Seems a bit closed with subtle aroma of leather / earth. Dark fruit and cassis on the palate with round edges and pleasant finish. I think will improve with time, try again in a year.

Not much on the nose.. maybe some cherry and a hint of spice. Muted fruit, cherry and some plum flavors. One dimensional, thin and a bit acidic. Short, unimpressive finish.

hazy red brown with orange brown on the rim. Based on the looks, i though it might not be good anymore, however, it had a pretty biig nose of prune with some leather and toffee... the fruit may have faded but the wine was very pleasant. not sure how much longer this one is going to last.

Aromas of dark fruit/blackberry and some cedar/gram cracker - seemed syrah-like as a first impression. Hint of a vegetal element in there as well. Smooth with rich body, medium-long candy/raisin finish. Maybe this needs some more time in the bottle?

I'm was a bit confused upon opening... Seemed rather tight at first, not giving much on the nose (I did pull directly from the cellar so it may have been a bit cold). Pretty purple with very good clarity, aromas if dust and cherries as noted below. Lighter in body than I was expecting with red berries on the palette. I was getting a kind of cherry cough medicine on the finish with decent length. Not too thrilled with this especially given the price point... Going to wait a year or so before trying again.

This was my first Decesse and it was wonderful. Decanted for about 1.5 hours, plenty of sediment in the bottle - deep purple with just a hint of red/brown on the edges. Complex nose of black currant, lead, cedar and leather. Smooth, rich body with black cherry, currant and blueberry. As we drank the wine over the evening, subtle notes of cocao and clove appeared. The spiciness complemented the fruit flavors. I found the finish to be just a tad bitter (overall very good though), maybe suggesting that it will benefit from some more cellar time. Enjoy!

Decanted for 1/2 hour (probably could have used a bit longer - it opened up more over the evening). A rich and luxurious, complex wine with a deep red / purple color. Aromas of blackberry, currant and maybe a touch of leather. Smooth texture with dark fruit (some blueberry in there), vanilla and licorice on the palate, long finish with black cherry notes. It may be a bit young now, but I suspect will only get better with age. Very nice!

Initially, it seemed a bit closed and lacking character, but opened up over the evening revealing a smooth creamy texture. pleasant. good qpr @ $28. Is it at its prime now?
