The nose is earthy, with loads of mint, cedar, tobacco, smoke, pepper, leafy herbs, and spicy plums. Medium-bodied, rustic, chalky cherries, cocoa, and dust is what you find in the finish. Considering the vintage, this is much better than expected. Drink from 2024-2030.

Very light in color and in concentration. Texturally, the wine was soft, refined and the red fruits were still fresh. But there was not a lot left in the tank here.

Best experience of my 3 encounters with Petrus. Previous two may be ruined by inappropriate decanting. Petrus is like perfect Lafite or Latour plus its symbolic herbal and minty flavor. But the integration would not happen until it was given enough long time. This bottle was decanted for 3 h+ 24h in the bottle+ 1-2h in the glass; in the end I got one of the most beautiful experience from Bordeaux wine; another one is Mouton 1982. Now I wonder how to deal with the vintage 1989........

Very pretty, nice resolved animalistic character, slightly thin but superbly clear. 94
