Pétrus dinner (Restaurant Sinck, Amsterdam, NL): Double decanted. More weight than I had expected from this vintage, ripe Merlot fruit, just a hint of green on the nose, fresh and well balanced, light structure, lighter tannins continue to provide grip, nice volume, silky, ever so slightly short on the finish, dried fruit indicates maturity. Charm without much power or weight. Completely ready.

Dark fruited nose, on secondary aromas of leather and spices. This wine transcends the vintage with a very good concentration, highly velvety and a good finish. Very sensual and luxurious, bitchey, but who will complain ?
Drank alongise VCV 2004 and Lafleur 2007. All were very close in quality.

ungt men ändå en doft så djup att det slår gnistor om det och en smak som aldrig tar slut, väldigt rent och snyggt. ett vin man gärna provar igen. stort.

Wonderful mature expressive Bordeaux. Decanted 3 hours prior to a retirement dinner. This actually outshone the companion 2000 Petrus served alongside. Brilliant nose of black cherry, raspberry and spice. Everybody agreed Parker's 93 seemed too light by far. If a date, this was a 25 year old lingerie model finishing her masters in English literature.
Decanted 1 hour Very light red. Great nose that you smell from about a foot away from the glass, mushroom, Forrest floor, a hint of tomato, caramel, and minerals on nose. Ripe cherry flavors, round, medium weight, long finish that lingers. Clay, and woody flavors. Velvety mouth feel. Sweet violet nose. A little veggie on the palette as well. Quite amazing stuff.
