An outstanding Rose, and one that perfectly marries smooth strawberry and cream goodness with a nice cut of orange rind, white rock, and lemon pith flavors. This is in a perfect place right now, and one of those Champagnes you could just hang out with in your little corner and be happy chillin on the couch alone for the rest of the night. This Dom just has that relaxing, cuddly quality could be a contemplative geek-out Champagne just as much as a lounge around the house nibbling on caviar and smoked salmon type of dealio. Much less of the brioche and biscuity profile here, as is often the case with other Doms.

Popped my DP Rosé cherry here on this wine. Although I tend to prefer DP over Krug, I think I favor Krug Rosé over DP Rosé. But, kind of in a way you're talking about one huge rockstar over another huge rockstar so it's really a win-win either way. What a delicious Champagne. Incredibly balanced steely and mineral dense red fruits...wild strawberry sorbet, pomegranate, tart bing cherry, and herbal white pepper small bubble finish. Would have put the entire bottle bottoms up with a huge bowl of strawberries Romanoff. Really neat experience.

Near perfection. Pink salmon color, ultra thick, fine mouse. Aromas of fresh stone fruit, mineral, brioche. Super fresh with years left! Perfectly balanced, high acidity. Super long, minute plus finish. A true pleasure. I’m usually less attracted to the roses, but this is a home run!
Aperol spritz color. Miniscule, yet relentless bubbles. Nose features Orange Creamsicle, sweet berry jam. Palate is strawberry, crushed rock, orange peel, hint of unripe blackberry. Creamy, but light mouthfeel. Finish with a slightly bitter, but not unpleasant grip.

Medium Negroni colour; rich nose, red berries, stone fruits, orange peel, oyster shell, autolytic depth; rich and toasty palate, full bodied and opulent, quite Burgundian even, but with marvellous acidity and minerally energy, creamy mousse; long and convincing finish. Agree with Jammy below but without the bitterness (none detected as that is a big turnoff for me) and a heavy dose of red berries (strawberries, raspberries), maybe even a hint of apricot with a wonderful lite mineral spine (very lite just enough to feel it but in no way heavy (maybe too little for some but it was perfect for my palate). The 15 years have allowed it to become a bit more well rounded but still fresh (not like the current 2008 zingers but still there). Love this champagne although not sure how long this will last it is killer right now to the point the two husbands tried to distract our wives to finish the last sips from their glass :)

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, high acidity. The acidity has a little bit of sting to it, but the feel is gorgeous and balanced with red berries, strawberries, citrus notes, biscuits, crackers, and smoke notes.
Overall: This is a lovely Rose champagne. It's well balanced and has good complexity, but it's not on the level of most Dom Rose vintages. It doesn't have the depth and full levels of elegance and the acidity is a bit out of balance. Still, it's very good and is likely in its prime drinking window right now.

The 2005 Dom Perignon Rose is nowhere near as elegant as the 2004 Dom Perignon Rose. The 2005 offers much more extraction and ripe phenolics. A concentrated array of mixed berries, ripe lemons and toasted note. Slightly bitter on the finish. Personally I prefer the elegant 2004 Rose. (90/100)

Elegant and light, but really lacking of complexity or intensity and a simple finish. Tasted a glass from two different bottles. Subtle and I tasted and tasted trying to coax something interesting or intriguing about it other than the color. I realized that it is made by a company that the brand means something, not necessarily the product.

Acker 200; 2/7/2020-2/8/2020 (The Pool & Cipriani): Typically I like my wine with age and that's true with champagne as well but I think this 2005 DP Rose is winning me over to the benefits of young. It's just so vibrant and bright in the glass. Like the fruits that come out right in the beginning of spring (think wild strawberries in a meadow). Very tasty.
There is a too sweet almost rotting strawberry to these, along with a little brown/burn flaw. The too sweet might be a recurring theme. The advanced darkness is a straight flaw. Thats a lot of cabbage down the drain.

Elegant, with a nice balance of bready nose, faint strawberry flavor, some light medicinal (campari/ cynar ish) notes and good acidity. Light salmon color and excellent bead. Definitely not the best DPr I've had but very tasty. Taut and food friendly. We took this with us to dinner for our anniversary. One of the appetizers was a grilled tart peach salad with a brown butter dressing and peppery arugula. The champagne really complemented the dish.
I think this may get a little better with more time - another year or two. We drank this from flutes and I wonder if the flavor and aromatics might have been a bit better in a wider glass.

The best part of a Don Rose is the aromatics and this did not disappoint here. Almost a light copper color in the glass and was very expressive on the palate. Was expecting it to be a bit tight out of the bottle, but not this bottle.

Old Grange and some other goodies (Ristorante Morini): What a lovely way to start the dinner. The last time I had the DP Rose I'll admit I wasn't totally convinced, but last night's wine was really lovely. Very bright and fresh and the red fruits came through nicely. Light on its feet. I enjoyed it quite a bit and enjoyed the youngness of it as well.

Very Pink, not dark as I would like. Very translucent too. Nose is really hiding. Some dough, some acid there, bites the nose a bit. This is tight high strung stuff for me, even on Day II.
If you poured this and the Moet alongside, who could tell. Such a disappointment, so overrated and overpriced. Just no wow, no pop, no love on my palate.
Not sure even the underlying wine/grape is very good.
Ugh.

Great Rose. Riper than a lot of DP Rose vintages but not overly ripe. Still lots of nuance in the wine with crisp acidity and lots of freshness. Great balance and harmony to this wine.

Tasted again one year later -- less red fruit this time, the vanilla was still there but now paired with orange, more like an orange creamcicle. Bread and spice in the middle, and a long bitter finish, more bitter than I remembered. This may need a few more years in the bottle to integrate, looking forward to trying again in another year.

crisp and clean and delicious however dwarfed by the older rose vintages it was up against especially the 2004 P2 and 1996 P2 needless to say, what a night of great champagnes and burgundies

HDH December auction; 12/13/2018-12/15/2018 (Chicago, IL): Steely, very reductive nose with some sweet fruit perfume, and a slightly surprising coffee note as well. The palate is still quite angular, and the elements don't seem particularly harmonious here. A hint of sweetness, but overall, there are some high-toned aldehydic elements here that I'm still not too fond of. Hopefully this sorts itself out with time.

This was part of a champagne tasting which I was lucky to be a part of. Aged for 10 years so it has this nice copper salmon color. Funky aromas of lees, slight raspberry, cherry, and smoke. Nice bubbles with strawberry and cherry on the palate with good tannins still there. Awesome champagne!

Very pale salmon color; closed at first, then opened to savory notes, peach pit, apple skin, dirty chalk, low on the fruit, but nice structure; nose opened up after 25 minutes to become more sachet and floral, with a mineral mouth, long finish. Savory notes accented the white truffle pizza marvelously. Med.+ acid, not hugely structured ('05) but drinking well now and go for 10-15 yrs. Spago.

Typical DP nose: oysters, sea breeze and toast, the red berry notes are in the background. some sublime hazelnut aromas. Nicely balanced, fresh with a good drinkflow. One of the best 2005 I had. maybe not a long distance runner but at the moment a fun wine with a masculine structure. For the next 5-8 years. 94-95

At Dom Pérignon. PNP 2000 P2, 2005 Rose and 2009 vintage. P2 2000 and 2005 Rose knocked it out of the park. Haven’t enjoyed Champagne like this in a long time.
Rose- wonderful mandarin orange and biscotti flavors layered innear perfection surrounded by wonderful mineral grain that runs throughout- maybe a hit of smokiness?
P2- last one opened and it was a stunner. Not a DP vintage or champagne loyalist but the P2 and the above mentioned Rose were outstanding. This one didn’t have the orange but had a similar biscotti essence with the same mineral streak. Maybe a bit more mineral but going back and forth between Rose and P2 they both held their own.
2009 vintage- similar to other good years although this one had more Pinot but only aged 7 years or so vs the typical ~9.
Giacosa weekend - lunch at Masseria (Masseria, DC): Expressive nose displaying generous red fruit, raspberry soda, strawberry, fresh clear apple juice, rose, cinnamon and other sweet spices, copper, white pepper and wet stone. There is a hint of green that is not bothersome. Very good concentration, abundant delicious red fruit, fine generous mousse, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a medium to long raspberry soda and white pepper driven finish. Very yummy!

Big dry nose of powdered sugar and red raspberry fruit. Red apple and some grapefruit citrus. The '05 ripeness is present here in a big way and there is less, is any, of the classic Dom brioche. Dense mouthfeel and mousse. Delicious but not overly complex. 91 - 92.

HDH auction at Spiaggia; 2/15/2018-2/17/2018 (Chicago, IL): A steely and unintegrated performance of the best wine in the Dom Perignon lineup, as is typical for the new release. The nose shows mostly tart red fruit, a little reductive stink, and some high-toned almond flavours. The palate is fairly ornery, showing lots of steeliness and tons of acidity. It's not the most integrated or interesting right now, and hardly giving the most pleasure. Of course, consider my notes regarding the 2004 version of this, and observe how that wine has so greatly benefitted from additional time.

Nick told us that this is the expression of Pinot noir @ DP . And more rose produced than the white .
For me the best rose I’ve had for a long time. Perfect in balance. Airy but with a lot of pressure on the palate. Some tannins from the mid-palate to the end and some grip through a dancing bitterness. Enormous length and high minerality. The fruits are like green plums and unripe strawberries.
You should try even if you’re not the biggest Rose-Fan

Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): This is just a mean and tart bottle of champagne right now. It feels a lot like the 2004 when it was released; there was just a lot of steely acid. It's sort of like eating a raw cranberry... just bracingly acidic right now. I imagine, like the 2004, this will get better once it has some time to integrate, but it's not in a good place right now.

The most forceful effervescence in the glass I think I've seen in years. Deep copper colour. Intriguing nose, rather toasty, but also quite sweet and floral. Similar taste; taut and vinous, with a red fruit core. With air, strawberries, cherry, and lots of spice. Rather sweet, with a whisper of bitterness to finish. By far the most expensive pink champagne I've ever had, although once again I got it at a considerable reduction. It's good, very drinkable, although I've had more pleasure from cheaper rosés this year. [Cork + cage; 12.5% abv; thedrinkshop, on offer at £222.52, widely ~£250].

Dom Pèrignon Masterclass (Lavinia - Madrid): Notes to petals of rose, raspberries and other speak of memories of curry and cereals. Note to ficus pot after smelling again. Very interesting and spicy.

I've tasted this twice in the last week and it isn't the wine I remember from a few months ago. It's tightened up a lot, and doesn't have nearly the playful, vibrant character that that latter bottle did. It's got some berry and peach notes, but it's aggressive structurally, muted, and without continuity. Time to let this sit and see what happens.

Much more forward, sappy fruit tones than the 95/96 P2s served next to this. Aggressive, medium-full bodied palate needs time to resolve. Sweet red and orange fruits on the palate. A fun wine with a lot of charm at this stage, but will certainly get more drinkable in time.

Very tasty.

If you poured this and the Moet alongside, who could tell. Such a disappointment, so overrated and overpriced. Just no wow, no pop, no love on my palate.
Not sure even the underlying wine/grape is very good.

Spago.

Rich and nutty flavor that's unique to the Dom perignon.
Combination of red fruits, dried orange peel, fresh herbs, wet stones...
It's still young, so I think it'll be great after aging.
But I was attractive because there were many parts to show.

Also from the DP tasting w/ Nick Lane.
